The first of of this book is in some ways very challenging. A lot of moving around the map, characters separated, a lot of confusion and turmoil. But to see how he starts to put everything into motion for the finale in the second half is exciting to see! I don't think I will ever tire of reading this work.

Finished the second part! Just so, so good. I love all the POVs. More than ever before, I am enjoying Stone Of Farewell. I used to think it was a marginal decline from The Dragonbone Chair, but now I realise just how bloody huge in scope it is and how fully Tad realised his ambition. There are big selling authors now still trying to get right what Tad already mastered three decades and more ago!

So much I had seemingly forgotten, and yet as I turn the pages the words of this world leap of the page and spark old memories! I just can't speak highly enough for this series.

Finished part one! Gosh I love this world. Sure the plot right now is slow, but there is still so much to absorb and learn about and take in. This is a series that really does improve with rereading. I hope anyone nervous about trying this series still give it a shot!

I really like this series. It feels so lightweight compared to Memory, Sorrow And Thorn. But there is something special about this series, it's great in a very different way.

This book is spectacular in its own right. Deepening the lore and history of the world, it follows numerous journeys, all very interesting if you have the patience to follow closely to what Tad is doing. I get for some this series is slow, hard going, or...boring...but to me it's intoxicating, it's everything I love about reading and great writing.

I've never not loved this book...however I've never loved it *quite* as much as I am this time!

Don't you just love it when old favourites only improve with age?

I debated whether or not to take a break between The Dragonbone Chair and irs followup. Well, the second I was done with DBC I immediately started Stone Of Farewell.

What can I say? I've held off a full reread for a while now, and now I'm immersed in the story of Simon and the peril facing Osten Ard, I can't even begin to think of pausing.

My favourite series for a reason.

I'm nearing the end of this first volume. It's a testament to how much I love Memory, Sorrow And Thorn that I already wish book one was twice as long. I don't want to be anywhere close to the end of this series! And I have much left to read 🤣

I've never loved this series more than I do now! Still a bit shocked by how it's been in my life for 20 years. Surely I was 14 only six years ago?

At the halfway point now. I feel so part of this journey. The prose, the ambience, the familiarity of the characters...its like returning home for me.

I do enjoy Quaintrell. Is the prose clunky? Yes. Are the characters and the worldbuilding excellent? Double yes.

I forgot about Brother Cadrach! Oh my lord...this book is breathtaking. Horror one moment expertly relieved with light the next. Masterpiece.
