This book is a full blown journey. I just love it, and am sad to be near the end and wishing so desperately for the characters to have some relief from war, concentration camps, and fear.

There is a very real chance that this could be my favourite novel in the Hunger Games series. I avoided reading this for a long time due to poor reviews, but I'm so immersed!

This book is huge.

I adore this book and author, but have taken a couple of years to get this far. Its a heavy, intense read. But a phenomenal achievement of WW2 literature.

The only issue I have with Katharine Kerr is that she has 500 page books with like 5 chapters. It makes it...a little tiresome to read, because you feel you have read a tonne but in actual fact...chapter wise...not so much.

That aside, KERR IS AMAZING! Period.

I have seen a lot of love for this series for years now, and was never sure if it was for me though it has a diverse fanbase.

Well, long story short, this is FUN and I'm loving it. 😂

I forgot how much I love this series! However, I had never read this. But knowing a new book is just around the corner, it seemed the perfect time to catch up. Two chapters in, I am hooked!

For such a short novel, this book is powerful

Yeah its surreal charms are working on me again! I am remembering why I really liked this the first time.

So odd, ao surreal, so...textured.

Weirder than I remember it. I also remember having liked this more the first time I read it.

Oh well! My journey through the work of King is never less than interesting.

Katharine Kerr has a beautiful writing style, and her stories are splendidly unique. A vastly underrated author.
