I am certain, nearly halfway through this entire series, that this will end up one of my all time favourite series. It has everything I love about fantasy, as well as a lot of more escapist elements: idealistic romance and larger than life battles of good Vs evil.

I know I should hate this. But I don't.

Oh wow. The world of this series is growing and growing in scope and scale and whilst I will admit it gets a little close to choppy at times, it remains a phenomenally addictive read and her character writing is improving more and more! I had no idea that Sarah J. Maas had it in her to get so good so fast!

Only just reached around fifty pages in, and already I am awed by the growth in confidence Sarah has with her writing. New characters, new lands, new themes: Heir Of Fire feels like a bold step from YA fantasy into full blown epic fantasy. Very much impressed, especially as the new characters are so intriguing.

Now four books into this series, and I love it more and more with every turn of a page.

Falling in love with Sam is painful when you realise...he doesn't survive the prequels.

Oh Lord...

These prequel novellas are better than the first Throne Of Glass novel when read together! They were written years apart, which makes me think she has grown a lot as a writer.

I was lead to believe this book was terrible. Sure, the story is nothing new, but the writing is quite lovely and the characters are charming, and the bond between the boy Eragon and his dragon Saphira is wonderfully drawn. Many fell in love with Christopher Paolini and his world via this book, and honestly it really isn't hard to see why.

All this fussing over Jace being the son of Valentine

It's set in the 2000s. Do a DNA test!
