Continues to fascinate

Oh, goody! Lots of fart jokes.

On the plus side, we have three different stories to follow now and the book is totally readable still. The bad news is that all 3 stories move at glacier speed and are not exactly what you'd call gripping...

Still readable with no major annoyances, but very little happens. Really, each chapter could be summed up in two sentences.

Started out with a completely breath-taking foreword! Amazing... and now island no. 2 is Bear Island? I'm lost in this book already.

Progressing nicely again! Not sure towards what yet, though.

One of the pre-text quotes are from Woody Allen, a fun one. That goes on the '+' account. On the other hand...something needs to happen now...

In life I have trouble abiding precocious children, but even though Leilani sounds like the Gilmore Girls on speed and will really need to prove being an alien for her character to be feasible, I don't mind her for some reason. Edward tells me this character is a staple in Koontz books, but me being a rookie that won't be a problem :)

If at first you don't succeed, Mr Wint.... Try and try again, Mr Kidd! Only this time it was Messrs. Stroemquist and Lorn... After a short and futile attempt with "Speaks the Nightbird" (oh, and not only birds spoke at length in that one) we decided to tackle a true shelf warmer (on shelves both sides of the Atlantic).

Third season of the show was apparently a transport only, now we seem to be back on track!

Wow, when the pace relented a bit, this got even better! I'm so stuck right now and I should really get some work done. Perhaps just one more chapter...
