Still good I'm very happy to report

Did I say that this story should "take its time"? Can I take it back?

And now, following a passage of explicit sex and cliché-ridden sex and even more cliché-riden fairytale we'll see if this story gets back on the road or end up in the ditch...

Chapter 22. Took a turn to fairy-tale territory. Haven't read a book where this is pulled off all the way yet, but I'll give it another shot.

Quite slow and lots of atmosphere and setting of scene. I really like the narrative though, so I don't mind!

Narrative fit me like hand in glove in this one. Long, windling sentences, starting with "And" and containing commas, semicolons, dashes, italics, 'quotation' marks and lots other stuff keeps you awake!

If Gardner was increasingly successful in writing Bond novels, I'm happy to not have given up on them as they deserved after the horrible "Role of Honour"... This is quite good!

No story, no beginning and no middle and no end? "Curiosity killed..." Did I start on a new one or what?

Like many things about this book, but by now it kind of overstayed its welcome...

Like this fine this far. (But considering most ratings, this may prove to be the equivalent of the guy in a slasher flick who managed to sway the hot girl, indulged in some drug of choice and went out into the dark to tend to some personal business with a nonchalant "be right back").

I'm shocked finding out that connection and still immensely enjoying this book!

Oscillates between fun nostalgia, quite creepy and downright silly. Not what I expected or hoped anyway, if it was a longer book, I'd have dropped it by now.

King at his best means mesmerizing storytelling with small means and undramatic story events (this far anyway)

"when she wrote BAD under her mental picture of you, she almost always wrote it in ink" Huh, one chance to make an impression I guess

Lots of the charm which is old sci-fi, not so much of the brilliant prose which is later Bradbury.

Hmmm, must say I had higher expectations on this one

Almost gotten all the way used to the translated narrative now and really enjoying the book!
