Listening to the Audiobook version read by Clive Chafer, whose voice is pleasant and not dry despite the sometimes "dry" sections. If you're looking for a book that talks endlessly mainly or only on Henry's actions concerning his wives look elsewhere. While they are mentioned, Ackroyd focuses instead mostly on the political and spiritual decisions of Henry VIII. A refreshing change to this historian.

This just really makes me want some bacon. But so far I'm liking it, despite never having read the novel before.

Super excited to read this. The first book in the series the television show "The Expanse" is based on and apparently very "relevant to my interests" as I am writing some scifi. I hope it lights a fire in my ass to get started on my story.

It's difficult to find a book on automation, artificial intelligence and robotics that *isn't* an opinion piece or straight science fiction... hoping this takes a broader and deeper look at things.

Jaherys should have named his brother Daemon his Heir and that would be that. Westeros might still have Targaryen rulers. Also I understand the concerns about Alicent Hightower but at the same time I find her simply a less psychotic version of Cersei. Certainly she doesn't deserve all that happens to her, but it's hard to LIKE her. Also the bit about Aerea and her missing and her death was probably the coolest thing.

Relating to Eliot so hard right now and most curious about what's going on behind the scenes. I've seen the series, certainly. But in the book? Who knows.

Enjoying the hell out of this and learning so much more about this world than I ever expected! Love it! The narration is also fantastic.

"In Fillory you felt the appropriate emotions when things happened. Happiness was a real, actual, achievable possibility. It came when you called. Or no, it never left you in the first place."
