HOLY Smokes! I just got a surpise. I came into work on my day off to surpise my employees with a lunch and the rest of the day off and they surpise me with a Kindle and a $200 gift card to Amazon! I've died and gone to heaven! I'm the boss, I'm not supposed to get the surpise! LOL

I guess a woman in her 40's in the 1960's with modern technology (modern for 1960's), dental care, medical care, suncreen and less manual labor is going to look much better than a woman in her 20's in 1760's!

In the spirit of the holidays, I decided to play the part of Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer. I woke up with a super red nose (along with a cough, and headache). I look ridiculous!

I love how this book goes from gore to an intimate (mother/ daughter type) conversation between Cass (main character) and Sammi (young restless teen who keeps leaving the secured area)

Prudence, Mercy, and Chasity and Mary- let's play the game of which one is not like the others? hmmm...maybe Mary? Good guess!

slightly slow going.

Not getting much reading done right now, drama at home making reading time hard to come by!

So I've been dying to read a Charlotte Featherstone erotica historical novel. I have Addicted coming to me in the mail but I'm starting to suspect the postal workers are reading it before they actually give me my book (I've had NO book deliveries in days- very, very odd). Thus, I'm reading the 2nd best thing- this book by Charlotte Featherstone. And yes, that brings my count up to 4 books at once!

on a search for her daughter. On occasion, Cass will be thinking about something in her past but that transition won't be super smooth. I don't even realize she is talking about something that happened in the past until I realize something is not making sense. Maybe it is ARC ebook copy, I'm not sure?

FINALLY! Jamie fainting, that is cute. It reminds me of their wedding day when Claire fainted.

Why do some great books get such little publicity? I had friends over yesterday, but I was so into this book, I kept making excuses to run upstairs to my bedroom so I could read... just one more page! The book is so well written. I literally feel like I'm in Esperanza. Brilliant!

The story is very rich in detail, and beautifully written. Every character has a story and I love how the author drops hints regarding the mystery behind each character. Nomad the scrawny wolf-eyed lab is my favorite "side" character.

Cass is just meeting Smoke. I like him. He isn't judgemental. Cass has been through Hell and back!

I had to finish the book, forget working! Wonderful!

Any of my German friends on here? I need to know what the name is for the candy filled cone that German kids would receive. I don't know if they still do but back when my mom was a child in West Germany, it was a big deal. I'm trying to order one for my mom. She never received one and it was a big deal for her. A sad memory that I want to make good.

Snyder is such a master storyteller. You simply fall into the book and literally feel like you are right with Trella and the entire crew. I don't want this book to end.

This book should be a movie. It is that good. Why did I let this book sit on my TBR shelf for 3 months? The story is so original and spooky. I love it. It also has romance but it is definitely not a romance novel. Love it!

I actually stayed at work because I didn't want to stop reading this book long enough to drive home. I didn't think this book could be as good as book 1. I was wrong.

thump, thump <-- my heart while reading this. For some reason, zombie books make my heart race. I can read lots of gore, horror, suspense, graphic everything. Give me a zombie book and I can't calm my scared ass down!

I've had this book on my bookshelf for a long, long time (ok, not that long but roll with it). It's time to read the book.
