I think I mentioned that I really like this book much better than book 1 and it is definitely because of Atticus. His character has grown on me. There are quite a few laugh out loud moments in this one.

It's funny because I just read a zombie book where there was alot of leg/arm munching and brain slurping BUT this book's violence seems worse. Don't get me wrong, I still want to continue the story since the violence has a place in the storyline.

It might be a scary thing if I could hear my dog's thoughts!

I'm liking this one better than book 1. The characters are better developed.

Ok, so Ares is grumpy, demanding, rough around the edges but I also think he just needs someone to love and his tough exterior will come tumbling down.

If you haven't read this series yet but you want to, listen to it on audiobook. It really is a performance instead of a simple book reading. I get so lost in Davina Porter's performance of the story that I feel like I'm on Fraser's ridge or in Lallybroch!

I can't handle this book, not because of the blood, and gore but because the actual story is heartbreaking. Never in a thousand years, would I think an author cold make a book like this work but he definitely has.

Ares definitely acts like a God. What an obnoxious prick. I'm guessing he becomes much better as the story progresses!

Poor William, his sense of direction sucks.

R grasping for his lost humanity and an identity is so heartbreaking. His sense that he is more than a shell of his zombie body makes me want to love him! Yes, it's true... I have a crush on a zombie.

From page 37-
"I look at her blankly. Hungry? Does she want an arm or leg? Hot blood, meat and life? She's Living...does she want to eat herself? Then I remember what being hungry used to mean. I remember beefsteaks and pancakes, grains and fruits and vegetables, that quaint little food pyramid."

I love this book!

From page 16-
"Without hesitation I pounce on him & bite through his neck. Then I dig my fingers into the crack in his skull, and pry his head open like an eggshell. His brain pulses hot and pink inside."

Even though the descriptions are very gross, they make sense since you are reading it from the zombie's viewpoint.

from page 10-
"In my mind I am eloquent; I can climb intricate scaffolds of words to reach the highest cathedral celings and paint my thoughts. But when I open my mouth, it all collapses."
I must be part Zombie, because that is how I feel sometimes!

I'm thinking too hard. It's bad for my brain.

I've never gotten this far in a contemporary romance suspense novel so that should tell you how much I like it. I keep guessing who the "bad guy" is and then doubt myself thinking that is too obvious and the author is letting us believe it is him and in the end, it will be someone else!

I love Lord John. I so want him to get together with Jamie but it is never going to happen except in my dreams!

Love, love, love this book. I have to admit I don't have alot of experience with contemporary romance suspense mystery novels so I don't have alot to compare this book with. This book kept me up way past bedtime AND I started it at midnight.

All right, I'm nervous since I don't like suspense novels, and I generally don't like contemporary romance novels & I don't like mysteries. So what the hell am I doing reading this one? I'm hoping for a miracle.

Ok, I'm such a Jamie addict. Seriously. I just downloaded the next book. I can't stop. I realized I was getting close to the end and I wanted more.

I've been stuck in a reading funk (oh I almost wrote that wrong) but I know I crave historical fiction so I'm going to give this a try. After I read a super good book (Deadline by Mira Grant), I always have a hard time finding the next full length novel to read. Nothing satisfies me!

Goodreads is so glitchy for me right now! I swear it is a conspiracy, someone is trying to make me have a real life away from goodreads, and books! Forget it!

I read the same 10 pages over and over again. I think I need to read this another time. It's the right book at the wrong time. I have no clue what I'm looking for in a book right now.

OMG... I think I just burnt every single taste bud off of my tongue. That serves me right, I was reading and trying to eat at the same time! Damn that hurts!

After reading Deadline, and absolutely loving it, I find that I can't decide what full length novel to read next. The last time this happened, a brilliant goodreads friend recommended I read novella's until I figured out my next book reading move. She is right. I've read 4 since I finished Deadline and this is now my 5th! And this one looks really good!

Lots of sex scenes but in between, there is an actual story there. Plus, it's not that bad, ok, it's actually good!
