Reread before Monster, cuz it's been 3 f'ing years already.

the dust and acid fumes off these old paperbacks hurt my eyes. i really shouldn't try to read them in bed.

Every time someone likes or comments on one of my reviews I find a new typo in it. :/

I can't think of anything remotely similar in feel to this.

I have kind of a little bit decided that I don't like April. So far this is fairly good, but not really compelling in any way.

Very much a "voice" book. There was an extremely jarring tense shift for one paragraph early on, but no more real slaps in the face like that since. There are some really good lines. Liking it so far.

I really love her stuff, it's funny and very approachable for students studying Japanese in my opinion, both the Maruko anime, and her prose works.

the cover copy made me somewhat reluctant to pick up this volume but it's plenty good so far.

Rules - Another deal with the devil story. I wasn't sold at the beginning, but it turned out quite good.

this is super cute. very episodic, and a old fashioned shonen manga type art style

Message in a Bottle - shortest one so far I think. more like one of Parker's typical shorts than the last.

Heaven Thunders The Truth - damn, that was different. very different culture than anything else I've seen from Parker. :)

Skipping Downfall of the Gods, The Last Witness, and The Devil You Know, all good, but which I have as standalones and have already read.

First story: The Things We Do For Love - 4 stars-ish. A thief and a witch. Good voice, not really a plot, more character study/relationship type thing. Not sure what portion of Parker's work contains magic, but it's a minority of what I've read.
