Finally getting around to the next book in the series. I loved the first four, but man this book is long...

Returning to one of my all-time faves. Like to read Catcher every few years and I've let too much time pass since I last did.

I made the mistake of reading this after reading Pressfield's "Turning Pro" and "Do the Work" which both borrow heavily from "War of Art". Honestly, if you've read any one of these three books, then you've read all three.

Never before has the beauty and depth of an opening paragraph hit me like The Nightingale. The first chapter alone has several passages with as many as 7,000 highlights on Kindle. And for good reason. I've yet to get very far into the book, but it's clearly written by an author a step-above most others.

Fantastic! Any fan of conservation, wild places, or Teddy Roosevelt. Egan is a phenomenal researcher and weaver of narrative nonfiction. Can't recommend this book enough!

The version I'm reading includes all 39+ drafts of the ending and all manner of other notes and drafts from Hemingway and even comments and suggestions from Fitzgerald. Very cool!

First time reading a steam/diesel punk story and I have to say it's a lot of fun. Jael still feels very much like Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite -- including the cropped hair and neckchain with significant charm -- but I'm certainly looking forward to seeing where this goes.

Enjoying this very tightly-written story. Can't help wondering if Jael's character (or the plot even) was inspired by Elizabeth from Bioshock Infinite.

What's to be said? It's every bit as good as I had heard.

Have had to scale back my daily reading as I work long days on a new videogame strategy guide, but I'm really enjoying what I've read so far. I'm already looking forward to reading the sequel.
