Finally had to will myself to shut the book and go to bed. Ephron has done a masterful job of bringing two couples together, making each one so real and textured and brimming with faults. An incredible example of character development. I know I'll have this book done in just two more sittings (or one more sleepless night).

Doug Walsh is 11% done with Bird Box (Bird Box, #1)

After a brief WTF? spell, I have to say this book sank it's hooks in me deep. Excellent use of internal dialogue to create tension in what is otherwise a very quiet book (so far!). I cannot wait to discover what is causing the main problem in the story. No spoilers allowed!

Before I get to the end of this book, I would like to see at least something go right. It's beautifully-written, but I've yet to feel a single character strike even a minor victory in their lives.
