Got this on BookBub and, well, let's just say I'm reading it for market research. ;)

Okay, enjoying the story a whole lot. Just wish the author didn't race through the conflict.

The dialogue is a little stiff and the beginning was too much too fast, but the story is certainly compelling and I'm enjoying it now that I (maybe?) have all the characters/relations straight. Will probably stick to Louis L'Amour books when I went to scratch my Western itch.

Epic tale of survival and love set in 1943, on the Japanese-controlled island of Attu in the Aleutian Islands. Highly recommended so far!

Extremely well-written epic story about a small village in western Turkey in the early 20th century, paralleling the rise of Attaturk and the rebellion.

A fantastic telling of the famed Battle of 300 Spartans at Themopylae. What a fantastic traveling companion as we cycle across Greece.

The poster-child for "telling, not showing" the only reason I continue to read this woefully-written book is because of the premise. I cannot think of two more unlikable characters than those who star in this travel/love story.

Haven't read anything that could be considered erotic fiction in some 20 years, but I'm really enjoying this story. Very well written, a challenge emotionally, and quite sexy too.

This is a great example of why I never give up on a book. I really struggled to enjoy this book at first, but once I got 30% through it, it really grabbed my attention. I'm so glad I didn't give up on it!

One of the best books I've ever had the pleasure of reading. Just wish it wasn't so long so that more of my friends could/would read it.

Really enjoying this book, but still struggling to keep all of the characters straight, particularly the females.

A thousand-page epic is certainly going to slow my progress in the Reading Challenge!
