So far, so freaking good!

I'm starting to fear the final 20% of this book is one giant epilogue.

I'm still really enjoying this story (despite the cringe-inducing anxiety it causes) but I do wish it was a slight bit leaner. There's an inevitable conflict coming, but as great as the writing is, I wish the story would hurry itself up just a tiny bit.

Was up too late with this book. Finally willed myself to put it down, as hard as it was.

Fantastic. At this point in the story, it feels like a cross between Call of the Wild and The Shining, but with a 13 year old girl as the protagonist. Can't imagine this not being one of my favorite reads of the year.

Is there anything better than learning while laughing?

I couldn't have kicked my 2019 reading challenge off with a better book. "Less" is more in every way possible. Gorgeously written, hilarious and touching. Deserves all the awards. All of them.

Immensely quiet, surprisingly bizarre, but I'm enjoying it.

Apparently 30 years exceeds my ability to remember plot. I'd completely forgotten what happens in this book, and I'm really enjoying seeing it all unfold for the first time again.

Decided to re-read the first book I ever read that wasn't required reading for school, nearly 30 years to the day I first picked it up.

I love it when an author incorporates a clever explanation about a novel's title, especially if it's drip-fed organically or comes up in dialogue. @SusannaKearsley did a great job of this, even going so far as to explain the funky spelling.
