On to book 2, before reading Sapphire Flames.

This is still sp fu and the cover so awful.

So far I have a few issues with the handling of plot and rhythm : we still can't feel where we're going, what the different characters' motivations are and almost no characterisation. However, the plot is very original, the atmosphere feels promising and I'm really intrigued by the characters.
