I really like the plot and the universe but I can't get past the very, very dry and detached writing :/
All these strong characters and all this wonderful world-building, yet I can't seem to get in touch with it. The book often sounds like someone reading an instruction manual for a microwave and I'm so disappointed that it makes me Not Interested in what's going on.

Finally getting to it !

This is so, so good. The pacing, the space and the often suffocating lack of air in the atmosphere, the jagged prose, characterisation, the proximity to the read and the twists and the turns and the false easiness of it all.
It's grand !
