Just putting all the books we'll be studying in Autumn term as 'currently reading' to remind me when I come back from residential to put them in my Amazon basket.

My class adore this and we love putting the latest scores into the back of the book.

Yeah odd...

I'm stressed and can't read much of it cause I have a load of stuff to do. Then when I read this, there's loads of tension and I get stressed because someone's been murdered and I still don't know who. Do you see my problem?

So I thought I was done with murder mysteries and picked up a contemporary book instead then...BAM there's a murder in chapter 1. Who? I have no idea. I think this'll be good as a TV series.

I'm SO confused.

I'm not too interested in the murderer's or the victim's POV but that's probably my mindset and not the writing. To be fair, I am enjoying it.

I don't think I'll ever look at this book again in the same way. A boy in my class has a voice for Kensuke and I'll never be able tor read this without replaying that voice.

We're reading a chapter of this a day after SATs and its such an escapism novel - we love it!

I haven't been able to read much this week because I'm EXHAUSTED. Hopefully I'll be able to read more this weekend. Apollo, I'm ready for you (ish).

I think we're on this page. We've just finished chapter 3. It is predictable but my class are enjoying it. It is a nice rest-bite from everything SATs related.

Forgot to say my class loved the first chapter but they've already predicted the plot up to Kensuke helping Michael on the island.

It is such a 19th century novel.
It can't be just a piece of curtain...No, it is a golden, embroided curtain, which is curved in such a way to represent the lady of the house's mental state. I feel like this book definitely has the M&S effect.

ANYWAY, I am very intrigued.

BBC are adapting it and oh my god I need to read it before they spoil it...
Its on the '100 Penguin Classics to Read Before You Die' list.
