I'm not sure I'd be comfortable with a man who referred to my breasts as "ripe." Makes me think; "Yessiree, them there boobies are ripe for the pickin'!"

I haven't been reading much, but I've been trying to read a chapter or two of this every day. So far, it's alright. I don't know if it's moving fast enough for me, but I do like the characters. She also has a great way of fleshing out a scene with a lot of description and special touches. I just wish I could concentrate more. It would also help if I had a chair to sit in to read!

I think I'm like two months behind on everything now! Nooooo. I'm still alive everyone, I just completed a cross country move!

Bleh. Boring with unlikeable characters. Go see Toy Story 3 instead.

This was recommended as being similar to Toy Story, and I see the parallels, but the thing that isn't working for me is that the toys don't know they're toys. It feels like it's trying to be sweet and cute but it's just not striking that chord with me yet.

I'm not really sure what makes a book a "classic" to begin with, but I think it has to be at least fifty years old and some person or animal has to die at the end." Yup, that's pretty much it.

Meh. For some reason the last two haven't captured the charm of the first one.

The back of the book had a picture of the author, Shel Silverstein. But Shel Silverstein looks more like a burglar or a pirate than a guy who should be writing books for kids. Dad must have known that picture kind of freaked me out, because one night after I got out of bed, Dad said, "If you get out of bed again tonight, you'll probably run into Shel Silverstein in the hallway." I STILL don't get out of bed at night.

I just don't have the attention span for this right now, which is a shame because I think it's going to be really good. It'll have to wait until after the BIG MOVE. Then maybe I can try it again.

Now I know why the soldiers are here." It really feels like this would make a great movie. Reminds me of something Crichton would have written. 

I definitely haven't gotten very far yet, but I have to say I am enjoying the way he writes. It'll be interesting to see if this can hold my attention for another 750 pages!

I feel like how Floozy must have felt back in May. I've got three reviews to write, about 40 gr emails to respond to, and I haven't even read anyone's updates or reviews for at least a week and a half. I'm not ignoring anyone, I'm just backed up! Florida was a lot of fun though ...

Wow. This book is a lot more naughty than I thought it'd be. We've got lesbian teenagers making out, everyone smoking and drinking, improper student-teacher behavior, cutting, and bulimia. Fun times.

I better get going on this fat book, it's due back on the 12th!

Were there sandwiches during Viking times? (Well, there weren't dragons either, so ...)

Two strange things about this one: first, I don't normally like mysteries and this has already caught my attention - it kind of feels like it might be like an episode of Medium, and second, I don't think I read more than one chapter in her book, Witchling, before I abandoned it because of the terrible writing and surprisingly this one reads like it was written by a completely different person. A nice surprise.

I really don't think there is going to be any conflict in this story other than Simon not telling Lily he's a werewolf. There's no villain. There's no tension. And they've been married since page 202. I really can't imagine what the next 100 pages are going to be about.

This is a bit boring and it seems like we've moved into the "everything has to be misunderstood or taken out of context to cause conflict" stage that seems to run rampant in historicals. The sex is hot though. But then, after that disaster I just finished, as far as sex scenes are concerned, a nod's as good as a wink to a blind bat.
