This is just .. hrm. Finding it hard to describe my incredulity over this.

So Ashline finds out her boyfriend cheated on her with another girl, and in front of a group of students Ashline assaults both of them - the other chick even loses a tooth. The vice principal breaks through the crowd to see what's going on, and it starts snowing suddenly ... and everyone decides it's time for a snowball fight. Um ... yeah.

Ashline Wilde was a human mood ring. Sixteen years old, and she was a cauldron of emotions—frothing, bubbling, volatile. She had never heard of "bottling it all up inside." She was as transparent as the air itself.

This definitely seems to be an "either you loved it or you hated it" type of book, which of course makes me monumentally curious. I'll just have to see which side I'm on ...

Why is it that Mead's supporting characters always know exactly what we're all thinking? And yet her main characters always manage to fuck things up?

I have a feeling at least one person isn't going to make it to the end of this book, for being instrumental in figuring everything out, and then I'm going to be really, really pissed.

Ok, finally a detail that I hadn't completely figured out. I always love a good paradox though. Who doesn't?

Blah, blah, Seth. Blah, blah, betrayal. Blah, blah, Georgina. Can I get to some part of the plot I didn't see coming three books ago?

Glancing up, I saw Morgan had now replaced McKenna on Carter's lap. They were having a discussion on the virtues of two different kinds of pony action figures. Morgan wasn't sure what kind she wanted.
"Princess Ponies come in more colors," she told him seriously.
"True," he said. "But some of the Power Prism POnies are unicorns. And you can do more stuff with their hair."

Sigh ... Carter is so awesome. >_<

Doesn't his comment sum up a lot of people's feeling about this series in general? I think it's pretty apt.

So our power was out for a few hours tonight, and apparently that's all I needed to actually finish a book. Nice.

All this build-up over Dana going into Faerie, and I bet someone does get killed, but I'm placing my bet that it's a person they left behind.

Page 26 and I already feel the need to keep notes. It's quite possible this will be my next Firelight.
