I got distracted with this last year and did not finish it I revisited it as I thought it was a good road trip book

While I am finding the prose to be excellent I'm not sure how I am going to continue to tolerate the sound of the voice on this audiobook recording

I had originally read about a third of the book back in 2013, this time around, I thought I would try it as an audio book.

I'm finding this book to be a great source of information on Tibet without being judgmental on what you should believe. Great mix of history, with both a foreign and native approach on modern historical events

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to how things went at this point so I am considering just going to the last disk now. I am finding things to fit together a bit too much and the relationships a bit too much in unwillingness to change. While I know most people don't but in a book you at least expect some development and I have not seen it yet at this point

I'm still hoping that it picks up a bit. It's getting a bit to melodramatic with relationships within relationships for me. We'll see how I feel after disc 6, which should be completed tomorrow, and at that point I'll be more towards 60% done. If I still don't like it, I'm going to drop it.

I thought I would enjoy this more as an audiobook a cd and a half in I'm still waiting on the story to pick up a little bit more

The book provides valuable insight from native and foreign perspective on Tibet. It's been a fascinating and enlightening read thus far
