This is an engaging tale of an industrious, clever, and resilient young woman at the onset of WWII. While I admire her in many respects as a go-getter, I cannot tell you the number of times in less than 100 pages I have been yelling at Ada for naivete , her silly romantic notions, and her gullibility. On one had, this is a woman who is making a life on her own, but on the other, she is blindly following a charlatan
