Cat Rambo's "The Subtler Art" is a fine piece of humorous S&S fantastic done adroitly. Nicely played, Cat! The kind of humor I enjoy in my S&S.

first Meltzer, recommended by a family member several years back, finally getting to it in my non-fantasy reading streak. ok thus far, interesting not intriguing, exciting not enthralling.

absolute hoot so far, far more entertaining than anticipated based on commentary. many uses of languages, words, turns of phrases I do not understand, but I went into this expecting so, so am glibly gliding along :-) actually, rather reminiscent of Erikson's novellas' themes and exposition.

interesting and enlightening read, I'm enjoying all the differences in opinions. not agreeing with some, especially the one just finished that suggests Batman should retire and pass along the baton, but finding the ideas at least argued well and entertaining.

characterization is as expected though must admit this Ned fellow has a game going I'm not quite up on yet. fun and nostalgic to read some of these turns of phrases.

actually turned into a much better read after all the players' backgrounds were done. pretty much a journalistic narrative from that point, with lots of authorial psychoanalysis. still not a fan, but don't despair over reading it like I did.

somehow Goodreads confused the links and has lost my beginning commentary on finally reading a Wambaugh book. I won't try to repeat; I'll simply say reading this is part of my personal challenge to read 13 non-fantasy titles straight.

a decent read thus far. it's sorta sad reading the autobiography of a guy who died in my lifetime and while having been a living influence in my life. sad and weird, rather different than reading bios of long dead guys. was also just shocked to learn his wife remarried in 2014. not that she can't or shouldn't, it was just jarring to find that on IMDB right when I'm reading how she and Buddy are loving living life.

not too deep in, easy read thus far, just wanted to comment on another reason Patrick Swayze was Da Man: he was a die-hard Doc Savage fan growing up and strove to be a master of many talents and skills just like the bronzed man! pretty cool, eh?

lots n lots of layers. somewhat interesting historical/social background. no really deep or compelling characters. decent mystery with no real unanticipated mysterious moments yet. finishing it, but whoever says this is a 'can't put down' or 'must read' or 'intense' or whatever isn't very well-read in such types of books.

ok. I like the premise, the writing seems appropriate for the era, even Feirie, the secondary characters are enjoyable, the plot mysterious, the action entertaining, the protagonist... passable. quickly descending into unpalatable. I can't stand whiny heroes who have the capability apparently to do more yet don't for lame reasons, expressed or apparent. he really better man up. soon.

lots more excitement now, and lots more connection with a key character now that we got to experience things from her POV. well done.

Learning lots more about some characters and meeting a few new ones (some of which don't seem destined to be around by the end). Brett writes better with every book, but this one has yet to reach the excitement and intensity (both in action and intrigue) of book 2. Still enjoying the reading though.

much much more interesting. beginning Section IV, III was the best so far, II had its moments. totally understand the built up histories of the Big 3, just was rather bored with it all. I am however now looking forward to what happens next.
