Bad things must end too.

I used to think there were some prisons you couldn’t escape, but now I know there’s no place I can go where God can’t rescue us.

I used to think life could be shared with anyone, but now I know choosing the right people is pretty important.

The sun is still dangling above the tree line, and the reflection of it flickers off the surface of the lake like candlelight. The clouds glow nectarine orange, dripping from the sky like crème brûlée.

I used to think I could shape the circumstances around me, but now I know Jesus uses circumstances to shape me.

The neighbor’s fence is choking with honeysuckle vines, and today their blossoms are wide open and so fragrant that the air itself tastes like candy.

I used to be afraid of failing at something that really mattered to me, but now I’m more afraid of succeeding at things that don’t matter.

I’m not sure if it’s just me or my mood but chapter 6 did not do it for me.

Basically any place in the digestive system that alcohol comes into contact with.

Just because it’s legal doesn’t mean it’s safe.

Some people use a filter on life as well as photos which allows them to only see what they want to.

We pretend not to see the scars we give one another, especially those we love.

The thing about truth is once you know it, you can never un-know it.

Control what you can control.

His dad gave him speed?!

(speaking about his dad’s mom)… and she engages in a strange competition with my mother. My mother tells me that when I was a baby she walked into the kitchen and found grandma breast feeding me. Things have been awkward between the two women ever since.
