Chapters 9-12:

This has been much kinder to read. Instead of changing perspectives countless times a chapter, we get a great amount of time with each person, so you can properly sink into the story.

And what’s better than reading about characters relationship problems? Not a lot of

More death, new mystery and another look outside of the Silo? Am I officially interested in this book? Maybe… just maybe….

Chapters 5-8:

The start of this book trumps the other two. Am I upset that we haven’t even glanced at one of the storylines? No. Because it’s literally the next chapter.

But it’s been hardcore stress for this first 20% and I love it.

Chapters 1-4:

No time skip? A straight continuation from the last book.
What have I done to be treated so well 🥹🥹

Chapters 29-32

Shit just went down. One of my least favourites is finally gone, Malta is still a precious sook, and the glorified Prince is… I actually don’t know.

God I love this

Part 2: Proper Gauge

Ok, been a while but it’s only part 2 and someone has died at the end of each… why do this?
More scene setting which is fine and expected, and I guess more of an explanation on this whole “Silo” business.

But please, can we stop the dying?

Chapters 25-28:

Bit of a lull. I couldn’t tell you what happened in the first 2 chapters tbh.

All I know is Malta is in danger and one of our male main characters is in a pickle.

Chapters 21-24:
Oh. My. Goodness. The plot thickens!!!!

We finally get answers on the most obscure characters in the book.

And we also have a brand new heroine? 1 1/2 of the way through the series??? Hell yes.

Chapters 17-20:

This book is spiralling into chaos, from all fronts. The pirate (main villain) is planning the unthinkable. The “mad ship” is very hard done by.

I’m in disbelief.

Chapters 13-16:
Malta is something else. Unbelievable.

And I’m very engrossed in this magical family side of things. There’s so much to be uncovered I’m upset it’s taken this long to properly introduce them.

Chapters 9-12:

Book is blossoming exponentially. Storylines are possibly (hopefully) connecting? Which puts us down to 3 storyline’s?! Who would’ve thought we would get there!

Malta might also be the most manipulative 13 year old I’ve met. Brilliant stuff to read.

Robin Hobb what made you think of all this? Honestly.

Chapters 5-8:

Some major villain revelations that may make him less of a villain? So who is the true villain?

Lovely stuff. + we got Malta content. Day = made

Chapters 1-4:
Biggest cliffhanger in the Liveship Trader series has just been dropped on my head. Unbelievable.

However, these first few chapters have been a bit of a letdown. I understand that we are favouring one of the plot lines. I do. But I haven’t even seen the spoiled girl this book. And we only got a taste of some of the others.

It’s ok. Much more of the book to come.

Chapters 29-32:
Oh how happy I am of spoiled little Malta getting her least favourite situation coming to life.

But that’s not what I’m here for.

Wintrow. You f**ked up big time. I’ve never seen someone go through so much struggle than this boy, except for Fitz, but he had a whole book in his perspective.

I’m working through 7 perspectives. And he’s still sucked more.

Chapters 25-28:

Wintrow is in deep shit. I never thought I’d say that his life could get any worse. However not my favourite perspective anymore.

Little Malta has taken that prize. After her dabbling in magic and stupid decisions, I’m loving it so much.

Gosh, imagine being courted by someone and the first gift they give you is a dream?

Chapters 21-24:
We are in a bit of a lull.

One of our perspectives (Malta) is annoying me. Just like how Fitz in the last series struggled to grow up, she is trying to grow up too fast.

We have seen major developments in Wintrow’s story which has been great, but Althea’s is… not all that right now…

But what is with these serpents??

Chapters 17-20:

Ooooo a little romance plot snuck in? Robin… you shouldn’t have!!

Another time skip, but I guess it’s just to progress the story as literally nothing was missed.

And round of applause for Wintrow!!! Takes a lot of balls to stand up to an asshole father 👏🏼

Chapters 13-16:

It’s unlike me to enjoy a time skip. But this one was worthwhile. MMC Wintrow has been thrown into the deep end, but it’s good to see some growth.

FMC Althea story is still my #1. She’s got so much character in her.

Very happy 🙂‍↕️😁

Chapters 9-12:

Ok ok ok. We are now down to fewer perspectives much sooner than I imagined. Thankfully.

And it’s getting increasingly more enjoyable to read. FMC Althea is a joy, and deserves so much more than she has. SMC (ship main character) is definitely getting a makeover I can already feel it.

But what’s with these sea serpents… do I have a new phobia????

Chapters 5-8:
Ok. It’s getting much better. Characters relations are intensifying.

Kyle is an ass. Unsurprising with that name.

But I wonder how the pirate will fit this into a single perspective story, if that’s even how this is supposed to go

Chapters 1-4:

A typical multi-perspective book. It’s pretty slow and also quite confusing.

I’m rather interested in the pirates story more, compared to that of the trader, and the traders daughter. Or the priest. Or the ship. Or the serpent.

Wow that’s a lot of perspectives.

Chapters 33-36:
This lore is crazy. Hopefully all goes well, but I’m sure there will be one final twist in the tale.

Chapters 29-32:

We have an emergency. The MC is blind and daft and doesn’t realise what he has done. 2 7/8 of a book in and his intelligence has barely grown. Sigh.

But finally the enemy is coming into the fray and things will

Chapters 25-28:

Shit is going down. We are (somehow) learning more about the main characters, and the plot thickens but also, I don’t see the end coming close, and there’s only 250 pages left.

May seem like a lot but when there 992 of them in total… it starts to feel like not a lot left.

Chapters 21-24:

I think I would’ve preferred if it was the original 3 from this current book that went on the final journey, instead of past characters too.

It just means someone will die. And it better not be my fav.

Also, an entire chapter about dreams? P.S. what kind of foreboding is naming something after a dangerous plant? Bit weird to me.

Chapters 17-20:

Now this. This is what I needed. A reuniting of the ages, with Fitz once again in the wars of injury.

I can’t tell you just how happy I am right now. Even though a spanner has been thrown into things (someone important died)

Chapters 13-16

Pretty boring ngl. Nothing crazy outside of Ch. 13. Just meeting some new characters, and lots and lots of reminiscing. Hopefully it heats up soon.

Chapters 9-12

This has been wild. To the news with Burrich and also his whole Tom the Shepherd Arc, things just never went dull.

I hope to see Starling again I feel she was a great character and not one that would only play a small part.

Part 1: Holston

Well, that was depressing. Don’t really have much more to say.

Chapters 5-8:

Wow, Fitz goes solo. Kinda crazy to think if I’m honest given he’s never been on his own.

But very interesting as he’s referring to a final chapter decision but it’s only chapter 8/41???? How badly can one’s plan go?
