Chapters 5-8:

Elliania had no right to do that!!!! Fitz does NOT deserve this.

I’m distraught, disappointed and devastated. His life was already a mess but it just gets worse and worse.

And where is Bee’s perspective????? I need more from her.

Chapters 1-4:

Nothing better than to be thrown straight into chaos. I’m gonna miss this when it’s all done.

Second Shift - Order

The “past” storyline is still interesting to me. I like the characters, relationships and general plot.

The present… draaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaggging along. Wow. About as exciting as standing in line at a grocery store.

Chapters 25-28:

And here I was thinking Shun thought she was just better than everyone. She’s also dumb as a peanut too.

Fitz is stuck in his old ways, and hopefully (in my opinion) leads Bee to think in that direction too.

Where is the Fool.

Chapters 21-24:

Bee excels once again. I wouldn’t mind a 5-7 year time skip tbh. I know we can’t get that because a certain errand needs to happen, but still.

Also Revel (he’s a sort of caretaker for the estate) gives me weird vibes. Something doesn’t feel right.

Chapters 17-20:

I have sort of recovered since my previous update. Bee continues to surprise me, and she’s definitely becoming one of my favourites.

Shun on the other hand… if I thought that Malta was a precious little shit, idk how to explain what Shun is.

Hopefully she sorts herself out.

Chapters 9-12:

How suddenly things can change 💔

Bee is a wonder to read. I have my hypotheses about her, and I am certain I’m correct. But regardless, I am enjoying reading about her much more thoroughly that I expected.

Maybe we don’t need The Fool, but we just needed a Fool?

Chapters 5-8:

Pretty big bombshell in this section. I can only guess that it means something will change very soon, but as per usual it won’t be how Fitz wants it to be.

I think we also get another time skip which I am grateful for. I think we have all but exhausted anything that can happen in the current years.

But where is the Fool? It’s called the Fitz and the Fool trilogy for a reason… no?

Chapters 1-4:

It’s so good to be back with Fitz. But of course, you can’t go too long with him for there to be some sort of predicament, or 2 or 3 LOL.

I’m glad he is finally living a life how he wanted it to be (somewhat). But what a cliffhanger at the end of Chapter 4!! It’s like she knows I try and read these in sets of 4 🤭

Chapters 19-21:

A fitting final battle. Selden’s note to his mother and grandmother was so so sweet.

Hopefully the final trilogy adds more to the dragon story, and it’s not just completely disregarded. Please.

Chapters 16-18

Omg. Kalo might just be my favourite dragon. Ruthless. Caring. No-shits-given. *chef’s kiss*

In human world, I really feel for Selden. I hope something positive can come from this. He doesn’t deserve it.

Chapters 13-15:

The battle was underwhelming. The outcome unexpected.

But the fact that Hest still thinks it will work out for him is fantastic. Laughable. Pathetic.

I can tell Hobb wrote every paragraph of his with a grim smile on her face.

A Selden, our poor missing boy. I really hope something works out for him. It’s getting out of hand.

Chapters 10-12:

Goodness me why do I have to get tired. Why do I have to work. Why does life have to happen at the most crucial part of the book so far.

But I will keep myself in suspense.

Chapters 7-9:

More downfall for Hest, brilliant.

Chapters 4-6:

Hest’s downfall needs to be studied. Exceptional work from this Chalcedean assassin.

And a reuniting of old friends, dragon progression and (must to my dismay) a poor, poor child who got severely unlucky.

If this was then end of the book I’d be reasonably content, so I am so happy I have so long to go.

Chapters 1-3:

I would love for Tintaglia to return ASAP. I feel that would make such a big difference in this book.

Other than that nothing substantial has really happened so far.. a boy’s heart is getting ripped to shreds by the day, a woman’s life purpose had been shoved into the dirt.

But they’ll be right.

Chapters 10-12:

Yes! Yes! Yes! This is great!

Malta is an absolute queen, still her usually precious, stuck up girl, but she also knows exactly what she needs and she won’t stop at anything.

The dragons? Hell yes. This is fantastic.

Chapters 7-9:

I put everything I’ve ever said about Captain Leftrin to the side. He is an icon. So see a civilian stand up to a council of asshole parliamentary figures is brilliant.

Also Dragon plot lines are thickening 🥳

Chapters 4-6:

I was getting attached to the Dragons and their Keepers, so I’m not too happy with the major perspective changes.

Although it is good to have Malta back.

Chapters 1-3:

It’s very interesting to see the Rain Wild perspective of the Skill stones and everything that comes with it.

Also what is all this with Selden? I forgot about his since the beginning of Tawny Man, and he’s… where he is.

Hopefully we get some knowledge.

Chapters 17-20:

Goodbye and good riddance.

Also round of applause for Sedric he’s grown some balls and finally has said what needed to be said.

First Shift: Legacy

I really enjoyed Ronny’s perspective as it showed how the Silo’s came about. This was something I was very curious with in the first book.

Seeing Troy? Was it? His side of the story felt like the end of Wool, where they are slowly realising things, and then BANG. Someone’s dead. Almost like that wasn’t my whole gripe with book 1.. zzz

Chapters 13-16:

Finally Greft (an arrogant asshole) gets what he deserves. Sure, he’s created enough divide as it is, but it’s good to see him get put in his place.

Other than that, we have just been watching relationships flourish and flounder, not too exciting.

Chapters 9-12:

🚨Sedric’s secret is out🚨

Idk what this means for anyone other than long term disappointment and awkwardness for the rest of the trip.

In other news, I’ve witnessed my first flash flood and thank goodness we don’t live in the Rain Wilds. Acidic water is NO JOKE

P.s. Thymara really needs to sit down with her dragon. Important words need to be had.

Chapters 5-8:

Sedric has surprised me. He’s in my good books.

And I’m really hating the group dynamic at the moment. It’s quite jarring.

Chapters 1-4:

God there are so many snakes on this voyage.

And am I getting the sense that we are going to see the rebirth of Elderlings?

Very exciting stuff.

NOTE: For those playing at home, Elderlings are beings that used to cohabit the world with Dragons, before their kind disappeared.

Chapters 13-16:

This has flown.

Leftrin’s story: He is growing on me. He’s still gross, and is still a weasel with something else at play, but he’s growing.

Alise’s story: Sedric (for the people following along at home), her husband’s secretary and her friend, has let me down, gravelly. Tsk tsk tsk.

Thymara’s story: Shits about to go down. Whether it is to do with the dragons or the group… idk.

Chapters 9-12:

Leftrin’s story: maybe he’s warming up to me but I feel there’s something fishy going on. Also, he’s a creep.

Alise’s story: life is looking up for her! But I don’t really think I’m a fan of her she’s got a very one track mind.

Thymara’s story: She’s gonna learn a lot from her job. Hopefully a certain few people and creatures are… left behind.

Chapters 5-8:

Leftrin’s story: I can see a few connections coming into it that already concern me. But I don’t really like his story.

Alise’s story: Poor woman. A poor man, poor mission, poor, unfortunate life. Hopefully things turn around for her.

Thymara’s story: undoubtedly my favourite so far. Heart goes out to the girl but I definitely find it the more interesting.
