Got a little bit more done tonight cuz I feel surprisingly human.

I’d be heavily shocked if I don’t finish this tomorrow - most likely tomorrow morning if I’m not feeling like absolute shit lmao

This is where I got before my wisdom teeth operation. We’ll see when I’m able to actually finish lmao

I like the way this book has been balancing reveals for the whole trilogy’s conflicts with the individual conflicts of just this entry. Feels a lot more balanced and intentional than Percy Jackson prior to Titan’s Curse for sure.

This one continues to be significantly better than Book 2, and even a decent bit better than the first. Hopefully it keeps up this pace for the second half :D

I’m rather surprised by and happy with the dichotomy that Carter and Sadie have. Very distinct personalities that don’t just come across in the story, they also come across very clearly in narration style and flow which is fun.

Working my way through Numbers. Been less tedious than Leviticus, but still a lot all at once.

This one has started off a decent bit stronger than both of the previous books outside of the whole "Let's tell the reader everything they should already know" stuff, but even that can be explained in-universe.

Hopefully it keeps up that quality.

Didn’t get as much of this done yesterday as I would have liked, but still going smooth. Reading Riordan feels so quick after War & Peace and The Dark Tower lol

Forgot to update my book progresses last night.

Still think the real-world storyline is more interesting in this one, even if there’s been a couple cool semi-horror sequences in the fantasy world storyline.

Beginning feels simultaneously more YA and less YA than Percy Jackson. Strangely, I remember surprisingly little of these books compared to Percy Jackson and Heroes of Olympus, so this is almost as fresh as a first time which is exciting.

And so the Title scene occurs. Some really cool stuff happening with the magic in the fantasy world. The real world's plotline is ever consistently tense.

Should be done with this in just 2 more days, maybe 3 at most.

Beginning of the book coming out swinging. Some really interesting man vs. nature conflicts in the fantasy world and continued man vs. the law conflict in the real world.

Let's see where this goes.

Finished Leviticus over a couple bike rides. That was tedious as hell lmao

Hopefully Numbers isn't so much of the *in your face* law stuff that way. I want a little bit of the history and whatnot more than these directions that just don't really apply to non-Orthodox Jews.

I'm on page 1250 of 1392 of War and Peace: Done with Epilogue, Part I. If I thought I liked the end of Volume IV, I really liked the end of this. Even the philosophical history at the start was great.

Plowed through quite a bit of this while doing cleaning and whatnot at work. Only about 2.5 hours left, which I'm sure I'll be able to finish later today.

Definitely limited to being the first arc in the trilogy, but the problems arisen throughout are great nonetheless. Looking forward to both finishing and continuing with the trilogy this weekend if I can.

Stakes increased incredibly quickly. I'm very interested in the concept and the mysteries still needing to be solved. Quite entertained, even tho I'm not huge into audiobooks.

Done with Volume IV in full. Honestly a pretty beautiful ending. Too bad there's 100 pages of Epilogue to potentially ruin it lmao. We'll see how I feel about this tomorrow. On the final stretch, finally.

Done with Volume IV, Part III. Some really great stuff here, some sad stuff (no surprise anymore), some more mixed stuff because I still can't make myself like Denisov's 3-year-old speaking mannerisms lmao. WAY too much Denisov in this part XD

Doing this one on audio. Definitely a very different experience. Has had a good hook so far. At least it's a nice change of pace from Dark Tower, War & Peace, and the rest of my reading plans this summer.

Done with Vol. 4, Pt. 2.

Things seem to finally be coming to a head. Wonder how so many of these arcs are gonna be concluded in just 110 pages left of Vol. 4 and 60 pages of the Epilogue, since Part II of the epilogue is just Tolstoy’s ramblings and musings.

Just like many other instances throughout this book, I am now very depressed.

Done with Chapter 4. Almost done with the re-read. The first 2 chapters were the really heavy ones in terms of references, tho 3 had several, and 4 had a couple. REALLY looking forward to Chapter 5 tho since that was my favorite the first time I read it.

Read Chapters 1-2 yesterday, Chapter 3 this morning. Hoping to finish today. It is INSANE how much better this is on the re-read - not just in terms of foreshadowing I'm catching, but also just understanding the world and mannerisms in a way that means something.

The Epilogue is all I have left. I read all of Part 4 and Part 5 tonight.

Damn, I already finished Part 4. Might even be able to read Part 5/finish the book today too. Idk how the hell I managed this paced, but I think I’m in love with this book. Here’s hoping it pays off :-|
