20 bucks says that there's someone in his house and he's trying to get her to leave. And I get that she's in love but really. Nothing is kicking in right now. She's still a bodyguard. 🙄

Of everyone in this book could stop spending so much time shitting on the main character for being "ugly" and "normal looking" that would be fabulous

This slow burn is so slow. Just kiss her already!! This is one of the only times I wish the romance hurried up. But it is also well done.
This would make a really good movie.

Alcoholic baby brother

TW: Several mentions of stocking with increasing elevation of threats

TW: *Very* detailed retelling of death of his sibling in a car crash plus drowning. Definitely unsettling as someone with a sibling but could really be a deal breaker for a lot of people. Also nightmares.

The story is really good. The relationship is developing in a very natural way and I enjoy all the characters, sans the jerk ex boyfriend. But there are *a lot* of trigger warnings for a wide range of subjects.

Still not totally believing that she's suddenly gotten bad at her job but the combo of being thrown out off her game by a totally new assignment, by her mom dying, and by falling in love seems like an excuse I can deal with.

Robbie is a pathetic jerk. 🙄

TW:Parental abandonment, parental abuse and relationship abuse, mention of physical assault, processing grief of parent, scenes in the hospital

Think this might be a new favorite romcom for me. Please don't let that jinx the last 50%

TW: "instead of accidently killing myself in a river of death" aka MC accidently almost kills herself in a river

Don't really understand why this unshakable bodyguard who's a seasoned professional is suddenly clutsy enough to walk into a river and is easily spooked by a cow. Supposedly she's been all over the world and she was shown to be pretty bad ass in the beginning. But now she's just a silly girl in a sundress and I'm not convinced.

TW:MC near drowning then an argument detailing the number of people who have drowned in the same river

I don't love the "only one bed" trope but some do, so this section is for them I guess.

The Robbie Taylor situation is really shocking to no one except the main character. 😒

Heard people say they couldn't believe this lady could be a body guard so the scene where she wrecks Jack was good to include. Still really enjoying this.

Not every romcom has to have a short female protagonist and a looming male love interest. We could have just as easily had this girl be 5.7 if this dude is that massive.

Man we really are getting the trifecta of deaths here: MCs alcoholic mother died of serosis, MLIs brother died in alcohol related car crash (which I'm sure will be a bonding moment between the two characters later), and MLIs mother dying of breast cancer.

Why she has to be short I'm not sure but I've been jiving with the audiobook since I started it last night and have wanted to read it all day. I'm hopeful!

Yep we're done. I quit at them having the bully use the f slur against the main character. Absolutely no excuse to use that ever, no matter the situation, even in 2014.

I'm not the first person to point this out but I'm very not cool with the whole "main female character used to be fat but went on a diet and got thin and now is unrecognizably hot to the main male character" thing.

Holy crap. I just looked at the Goodreads for this and I thought it was a stand alone but there's like 9 of these O.o

Do we really need to describe the body shapes of every person you interact with? I think not.

I don't even remember when I added this book to my TBR or who I saw read it or if I found it on my own, but it's been on my TBR on Goodreads for as long as I can remember. Excited to finally check it off my list. Not expecting a 5 star but hoping it's fun.

I thought I was in the mood for romance and it seems like I'm not. Looking for something to hook me more than this but will definitely come back to it.
