Found these cute little audiobooks on Everand (used to be Scribd) and am planning to binge them to help me feel festive 😊
Also pretty sure I read them out of order but whatever.

I love the couple in the first book but it's such a bummer her and the baker had to split in this one 😔

I'm almost done with this and I want to read something festive but I also want to reread the first book and also kinda want to just reread this one again.

Idk if anyone else's entire feed turned into people accepting friend notices for the whole past week but that was annoying. Pretty sure it was a Goodreads glitch.
Anywho, glad to see actual updates from people again.

This book is going to get an easy five stars. I love all of the characters. I can't remember any of the names because my brain is mush but I adore them and they make me laugh. Now we have the skeleton in the bag and the creepy was quickly overtaken by how much the narrator makes him sound like Matthew Mercer from Critical Roll. Once you hear it, you can't unhear it.
Essentially, please read the audiobook it's gold.

Still loving this entry. Feel like I could read all these books and never be tired. The perfect amount of romance, fantasy, fun, and mystery with a wonderful cast of characters. The perfect cozy fantasy.
TW: several mentions of various wounds in various stages of oozing and injury, description of decaying body not too brutal but there, some battle in the beginning, cursing heavily.

This is fun but it takes way too long for the MC Karen to realize she's in Olympus for real. Almost half the volume.

Reallllly need a win and something warm and fuzzy. Can you believe I've DNFed 17 books this year in various stages of completion?! I mean, I'm proud of myself for not pushing through stuff that's triggering, which was most of the reasons why. But dang.
Anyway, would love for this to be great as I've been greatly anticipating it!

It looks and sounds middle grade. It sounds spooky but not horror. I am not the only one to point this out, as several reviewers have mentioned this. But thanks to the lovely people who have read this and given it trigger warnings, it only gets darker and gorier and could be given a hard R rating, which is not what I signed up for.
Genuinely so bummed that this was not what I was expecting because I was liking it!

So here's the dealio. I love the writing. I like the characters. I really like the plot, Poe and all. However, I just got to the part where the gore really kicked in and apparently the book continues down this road for the rest of the book. I could deal with some backstop but I can't deal with Tuesdays dead best friend haunting her for the rest of the book.
The marketing on this got me. It looks and sounds middle

Didn't realize it till now but "mysterious benefactor dies and leave his fortune in a treasure hunt" is an oddly specific trope that I seem to love

Maybe it was the cover but I somehow thought Tuesday was a teen. I actually like that she's around my age.
Also really like the writing so far!

I can listen to books now and go to the library to grab some graphic novels.

Another one on my Backlist Books Goals list for this year and one I probably should have picked up during Halloween according to the vibes so far. But the Westing Game comparisons had me sold and I have a physical copy on my shelf, so I'm really hoping I like it. Already feels very similar to the Westing Game vibes and I'm liking it!

I feel like there wasn't much standing between Percy and completing the quest. Like we resolved it really quickly (even though I know we have two more left). But the messages about growing up really hit home.

Percy Jackson books feel like a comforting warm blanket and healing my inner child. I have missed the writing and characters so much.

I equally want to never pick this up again and also finish it out of shear spite that I've spent 12 hrs listening to it so far

The narrator for this last section sounds like the stock voice for a PDF reader and it is making my overstimulated brain very much not want to listen to this right now

I would rather be listening to this than doing anything else at the moment
