I’m super scared because so far it’s very soft, the relationship between the mc and Kojima is tender and humane and enjoyable to read. But the blurbs and the tw I’ve seen are worrying me :B

NGL j'avais pas confiance au début. Vu le résumé, ça peut être très fun comme très homme blanc préhistorique hyper trash. Pour l'instant la plume est cohérente avec le personnage principal et participe à sa characterisation.

They are so soft 😭

So, so, so good. As good as the first one. The intimacy is so beautiful and hot but like in a romantic and soft and delicate way. It's like owo but with wisteria, citrus patisseries and earthy tea 🤌🤌🤌

I actually deeply enjoy his prose. I’d love to read a novel by him.
I also enjoy his really short and really long poems. I’m in his poems from the 80s atm and I think it’s my favourite period.

I think it’s a bit mid ? It’s not unique in anyway, the writing is rather flat, the characters one-dimensional, the tone and narration are boring and not engaging, but not it a « not plot just vibes » way. It’s giving quirky white boy ™

the rhythm is what I enjoy the most in poetry, and I think i don’t really vibe with the rhythm of these poems, which could 100% be because it’s translated. i do vibe with sentences, images, but only briefly and raremy with a full poem

Idk if I like it or not, I keep reading it with my friend’s thesis eyes and I can’t find my own appreciation (or dislike) of this ?
I don’t really enjoy the narration, the writing is overall very basic -not bad tho-, and I mostly do not care. But at the same time it’s kinda fun ? All the symbolism and coincidences ?

I love some of them, some others leave me rather indifferent. I'd love to listen to someone reading them aloud

this is such a powerful book, truly mesmerising. so atmospheric and confusing, yet delivering strong messages and painting such vivid characters and societies. it’s also unexpectedly modern, with feminist echos and a subtle yet loud anticolonialist/antiracist discourse
the escalation in the last pages took me by surprise and leaves me speechless

These poems are truly timeless
The repetitions of the same patterns throughout the book are fascinating and the deja-vus they create convay both a sense of nostalgia and the impression of being trapped, doomed to live the same pain over and over

I was happily surprised by the 2nd person narration, and I enjoyed the first 30 pages. Now I'm getting bored by all the pregnancy stuff
