It's good ! I really enjoy the atmosphere, and I truly appreciate T. Kingfisher's rewriting of this piece, it was definitely very well done ! Primary material was a strong foundation!

I don't dislike it, but there's something so goofy about it and I was looking for/expecting a terribly dark thriller I'm not getting. I find it also much lighter than I thought it would be ?? I'm curious to see where it's going

Also, so refreshing to finally read a man describing women as individuals and human beings and not meat with breasts ; here I can feel Anjum’s magnetism and I can almost share Krishan’s crush

Actually getting much better ! I love the portrayal of intimacy, the description of Anjum and her mannerism, her characterisation overall. The casual queerness is so subtly and comfortingly installed, Krishan’s personality is also developing and making him a more believable and touching character. I’m curious to know where this is going
The reflective paragraphs have also gotten better, more poetic and relevant

I don’t think it’s bad, just not for me. The writing, appart from the very long sentences, doesn’t really seem to have anything special or especially poetic that grabs my attention. It is flowing and not terribly basic, but the descriptions, the ton, the characters don’t strike me as memorable and I’m definitely not invested in… well anything

I do appreciate reading such long sentences because it's uncommon, but they tend to reflect on such boring topics.. It's not always the case and I truly enjoyed the first paragraph on never being fully present but the last one aging was so... basic :7
I'm interested in Krishan's story though? Even though everything about his grandmother is so fucking depressing 💀

A rather fast but boring read

The topic definitely is interesting, the characters can be touching at times, but everything is just SO surface level, for such a literary scene and such legendary figures it’s so disappointing

I enjoy the story it’s telling, but it’s makes it so cheesy and boring and flat :T

I was about to write « I’m still bored and now slightly uncomfortable », but then I read a graphic description of a child being assaulted and I’m just questioning the author’s ethics and why this was awarded prizes ? For real, what am I missing out ? How is it enjoyable to read graphic sexual assault especially on children ??
