This is now fully my jam and fully what i was looking for. The last chapters were very enjoyable, I liked the way we were offered important glimpses at Zhu's life instead of getting a generic summary of a time skip. The tension in the last pages was incredible and had me screaming??? EMOTIONAL ROLLERCOASTER HELLO?? So clever after slowerish and more peaceful scenes. I didn't fell, I jumped into that trap

still going strong. i’d recommend this to people who enjoyed mexican gothic because of the pace, the atmosphere and how it’s being set, as well as the dynamics between characters (they don’t have the same relationships at all, but the distance between them and the frequency of their dialogs is similar)

This edition is a nightmare to read :)

I think the flashbacks are good : believable characters, natural dialogs, and it’s mysterious. But the current timeline isn’t very griping. It’s giving too much information on everything all the time. The action is taking too long to start -that’s mostly on me, I did think this was a murder mystery. And the dialogs (that might be intentional) sound so fake, the rivalry between Nella and Hazel is painful to read :(

I'm super sad because I loved the prologue, it was well written, grippingly paced, i was hooked. But now the other chapters are kinda flat ? We're given too much information on everything and it both ruins the mystery and slows everything down :(

The mc and his mom relationship is my favourite thing. It's so tender and clumsy and bashful and ❤️

The conversation they're having right know has me crying

I’m super scared because so far it’s very soft, the relationship between the mc and Kojima is tender and humane and enjoyable to read. But the blurbs and the tw I’ve seen are worrying me :B
