It's really bothering me that the FMC is 25. She has skills and clientele stature that would make more sense if she was at the very least 28 but more likely 30.

As an eyeglasses wearer I totally understand Crown's point. I don't wear my glasses when I don't care about seeing or visually connecting. If it's a blur it's whatevs. If I take the time to put my glasses on that means I'm for real and serious. 🤓🧐😎

A family that kills together stays together. This is a good read but to get the full effect it's required to have read the previous book. Some of the characters would feel like missing pieces without that background info.

Hmmm...thought this would hit harder than it does. Plus Dani's storyline isn't adding up. More like it doesn't hold water

It's reread time and in light of all the real life political bullhockey going on this feels like a slice of apple pie comfort, a piece of fantasy on the levels of Django that I can completely get behind and crave and need. Oh and Jahmir is Black American fine.

FIN indeed and of course it makes me want to reread Book 3 and reread Book 1.

🫰🏾🫰🏾 why I will never truly quit this author. Black love is something she really stands 10 toes down for. She doesn't dip. She doesn't waiver. There isn't anything else she wants to shine more on is the sexiness of Black men and the love Black women deserve.

Apparently this book is very dark but the TW list is at the back of the book, which means I had to download as Read for Free. Just to kick around if I would dig the book I didn't get a chance to read the TWs after downloading but the flashbacks are constant already and it seriously impacts the flow of the story.

It's difficult to get through because there is a flashback every other page. Then there are some formatting issues.
