How is a book called Preach but not focused on Preach? Writing still feels like a Tubi script. The Chi: tubi version but on bikes

Ummm. I want (for some) Black authors to fully stop using anti-Black rhetoric in books because as a collective we should have moved past all of that.

I thought I was going to go ahead and ride this out but the FMC being 20 about to turn 21 with the drama she has attached just makes me lose all interest. I swear I thought she was at least mid-20s based on what she is dealing with. So now I'm pausing. Plus the MMCs experience seems to place him in his late 20s or early 30s. Having him go back and forth over grief isn't my fav trope.

I know I'm meant to see this as a perfect romance moment, but all I can think is what a horrible inconvenience for Joe schmo-not-a-billionaire that the gym was shut down for a content creator.

Mmmm. Trigger warnings aren't required but I do take issue when serious traumatic health events aren't even mentioned by the author. It shows a lack of care. Especially when that trauma is shown in detail on the page

Gotdang and good banter is how I got sucked into the last book. Looks like my morning is decided for me because this meet cute is actually a cute meeting.

I like this author, she works good humor in her stories.
