wow i was expecting this to be really good but i'm realising just how much i've outgrown the "american military lingo", that very specific way main characters speak in american action movies and media, where they're supposed to seem sufficiently down to earth so that the average viewer can relate to them but still cool and heroic

Once you realise this is just some guy talking about how smart he is this becomes incredibly funny

Took me a bit longer to get into than Terry Pratchett’s Discworld (the only remotely comparable series imo) but I’ve become quite attached to this set of characters now :)
