Hmm, I don’t know if my reading taste has matured or if Brandon is just rushing too much through his most recent publications, but I keep noticing flaws in the writing that I hadn’t before. Repetitions, being told, not shown about characters’ feelings, sentences being clunky…

Bloody hell this woman can write

Oh dear I don’t think this is very good. The introduction doesn’t give a clear idea of what’s going to be discussed, no clear timeline is given, techniques are not described very clearly, social context is mentioned but not discussed. Mostly it’s just a series of paragraphs that go into way too much detail about dates and printing houses for very specific types of fabrics.
