the book is a decent concept but omg the author tries to convey the struggle of poc but it’s just racist in actuality and i really can’t believe i even got through this book

I KNOW THIS AUTHOR DID NOT COMPARE THE SOUTH ASIAN CHARACTER TO THE BEAST FROM BEAUTY AND THE BEAST OH MY WHAT AM I READING

ya know a white author trying to write about the experience of being south asian in an otherwise very white and privileged family - doesn’t sit right with me

i’m trying so hard to just get through this book but it’s so bad so far like how does it have a decent good reads rating

honestly this is just making me sad. reading about why carden is broken is making me bawl

i’ve barely made a dent in this book so far but it’s so incredibly funny omg
