This book is literally sucking the joy out of my birthday. I'll finish it tomorrow...

Wait, what? In less than half a page we have the MC thinking, "If he could get Marshall between the sheets, he might not even charge the man" (for a painted mural) to packing some pencils so he could do a sketch (of the mural) while checking out the worksite because, "the quicker he started, the faster he'd be paid." *whiplash*

It's odd: This story is rated the lowest of the series/anthology and yet it's got the best first chapter of the whole bunch IMHO.

LOL! Kit really is my favorite of JL's series characters. His sense of humor is so right up my alley.

Yeah, I knew that "rehabilitation" and reconciliation was too good to be true. Very glad that Whyborne saw through it. Now, I'm a little worried that their Father might be in on it...or at least not opposed to the change.

I also don't care much for Guy, but he and Adrien are supposed to be monogamous at this point; and Adrien - no matter how uncertain he may be on that relationship with Guy - owes him the truth...

Oh, I do so much love Adrien's relationship with his step-sister; making her his heir, taking her for riding lessons and playing games - good gracious, he makes a great dad.
