Not sure why, but I haven't really been getting into this yet. It's written competently and all, I just haven't really gotten invested yet. The characters and the world don't feel vivid and real to me, and there's been absolutely no Fantasy elements.

Wow, I'm bored. I'm gonna skip ahead a few chapters to see if the plot kicks in and I start getting interested. Or DNF.

Also the narrator just said "F.O.I.A. request" like some weird robot who never heard the term before (it's pronounced "FOY-uh") and it immediately ripped me out of the story. Why would a character who commonly handles them for her job pronounce it that way?!?! I've never encountered one and I know!

end of ch 3 and man, was I getting sucked in. the shift in POV made me have to go back and do a quick read of the synopsis, lol. I guess this was more of just a prologue but I was really into it!
