Let me provide some context for my weird rant just now: this confession scene is a fat mess and a stark reminder that yes these are seventeen year olds and I’ve definitely outgrown this stuff.

Like the horror stuff is cool and all but I cannot for the life of me get through this melodrama.

I figured it out! I hate stupid protagonists. And this fuck is so fucking dumb and like sure he’s fucked up and I respect that but I can’t respect being this dumb. Like how hard is it to say “I would decapitate the both of us and bury our heads in the same pit in the dirt but I don’t want to see your penis.” Goddamn fool. And then to bring up the sister? The one you’ve hated the whole book? Shut up dawg

lana’s cool but she kind of sticks out like a sore thumb …. kind of like bryce. they’re these high school contemporary archetypes dropped into a creepy fantasy so it’s a little weird when they pull up.

i feel very bad for dove. i know there’s a mystery w her that we’re not gonna know about until later but andrew is stupid if he thinks he’s not mistreating her … and idk her bitchiness just feels off

dawg i am kinda pissed that i returned that audiobook so impulsively…as pissed off as i was about the whole book i was actually intrigued as to how it would go when the characters actually got together smh. oh well

at least it’s a quick read. i’ll make a genuine complaint that isn’t just me being annoyed bc i have a track record of that i think - the short stories in the black pages are pretty much inaccessible. who allowed that font with that colour in that background? i can barely read it smh.

I’ve been fighting my brain to let go of the “quality” of the story/plot/characters cause this is a (supposedly) self-indulgent smutty romcom and I’ve been aching for one of those lately…And the narrators are absolutely eating…But guys….He just said “you’re not like other girls…”

Do I:
a) Give up and DNF
b) Listen at 1.5 or 2x speed just to finish it
c) Listen at normal speed to hate on it
