Lol the way I downloaded a sketchy ebook that just turned into this book in the middle and I didn’t even notice because they’re both set in the same place ; anyway I read this a while ago so the date is off and I forgot how I felt about it specifically; it was mid lowkey exactly how I expected it to be; will never think about this book again

Anyway this lowkey didn’t hit the way I wanted it to; it was still an ok read I didn’t hate it, I just think I usually get a little more invested; the last two romances I’ve read have been kinda 😬😬 am I growing out of the genre or am I making bad selections; guess we’ll see

it’s crazy how the ebook I downloaded switched to a different book in the the middle and I didn’t notice + kept reading for like 2 hours; in my defense it was set in the exact same place and I thought it was a high school flashback + I forgot the characters names because I picked this up after like a week long hiatus

This is gonna have to get a 3/5 although objectively it is not a great book but again the content was really interesting so :) glad to be done with this because it was crazy + mildly disturbing and hard to get through

I agree that the book wasn't really well written and the only thing that kept it going was the content; before going into it and reading about the things that they did I really just did not understand how people went from living normal life to being poor pedo missionaries but I think I somewhat understand it now; I would give this 2 just based on quality but if I finish an audibook in <2-3 days I was rlly in it so..

A very spotaneous pick-up after seeing it on a random shelf in Port Angeles :) I've always wanted to read a cult book but never really got around to it + a memoir seems like a good way to learn about it; I agree with a lot of the two star reviews I read unfortunately like when someone said "She has a story to tell, but to me, she's not a natural writer." Even though the content was interesting it was a hard listen

I remember seeing this book about a year ago and reading lots of reviews but still deciding not to read it; anyway here I am reading it with a new interest for no apparent reason, guess it’s just speaking to me right now; I don’t really like this author that much but the concept is more interesting than her other books so maybe that means this one is better ? I guess we’ll see

I really wanted to give this book 2 stars because of how bad most of it is but I’m ngl that part right before they got together was good; but all things considered, if a book makes me so bored I have to switch to TikTok every few pages to keep myself going it cannot be that good; I also definitely have low standards in romance so a 2 is deserved; I also would like to have more rating variation so :) using this

the beginning ~40% of this was actually horrible like I understand the concept of the slow burn but the romance genuinely carries the entire story like nothing about it is remotely interesting aside from Aurora and Rhodes’ relationship; I really wanted to drop this until the romance started picking up like 50%+ of the way through; I liked the build up starting from when he started to invite her over

Writing was exquisite~~ when she brought in other memoirs that I’ve read before I felt so worldy 🤭🤭 anyway highly recommend this was gas I usually do not get that invested in memoirs but this one was just different

This was lowkey insaneee how does she make therapy sound so good; Dr Ham 👌👌; how does she articulate her mental state at so many points in time throughout her life in such detail like ?? everything was so vivid considering how long ago most of the moments she talks about were; when she was talking about driving through San Jose and I recognized the street names 😶😶

First chapter is decent, writing is better than expected; typical enemies to lovers plot 🥱🥱 let’s see if it’s any good

Was gonna change the edition of the book so when I input the page # I’m on it’ll give me the correct % completion but the correct edition has an uglier cover so I’m sticking to this one :) instead I will manually calculate the percentage myself lol

Has me more hooked than most audiobooks; SF is lowkey a really good writer also podcast producer is a 🤭🤭 very swaggy job she is cool; also I’m literally gonna try shrooms because of her so stay tuned 😎

Cardan and Jude progression was great until he betrayed her 😐 but whatever I guess it was bound to happen; I’m sad about it though I’m rooting for them; I’m also hella sad that queen of nothing is supposed to be shit now I’m not excited to finish the series :( also I really need to start it soon because I realized that if I wait too long inbetween sequels idgaf anymore because I forget I was invested lol

Tbh it’s starting out the tiniest bit slow I wasn’t in the mood to read this but I started it anyway; I’m still liking it but prob would’ve liked it more if I read it right after cruel prince

Was really excited to read this after I finished cruel prince but I was afraid I would get too sucked into it so I made myself finish open water before I started this and now I’m not that invested lol; it’s supposed to be reallllyyy good though so 👀 let’s see

Also I feel like there was no actual romance in this; it was mostly just about recovering from grief featuring some flirty banter with her hot moody coworker that she ends up dating in the last fking chapter; they never even officially confess to each other it is literally just implied that they’re together; somehow I kind of enjoyed it anyway because I kept wanting to come back to it so it’s gonna get 3/5

I really hate the way this book was written; the transitions between certain scenes were so confusing like one paragraph we’d be in her room then we’d be at her library job then at her catering job and you wouldn’t know there was a scene transition until the middle of the next paragraph ?? Like I swear I’m not dumb it’s hard to keep up with; I didnt hate this enough to give it a 2 but parts of it deserve 2

this was so insanely horny omfg 💀 the ranking goes deal > score > mistake; Dean was probably the most well rounded character ? Like his character stands out more compared to Garrett and Logan; Allie’s only personality trait was that she always wanted 🌶️🌶️ ; I’d say she was the least likable out of the series FL’s so far but not unlikable just .. “Kendall..you didn’t stick out to me”

first book was better but this one wasn’t bad; lowkey every hockey guy has the same personality just a different backstory / tragic family life lol; the girls are also all variations of the hot nerd girl who doesn’t know she’s hot trope; the little plot device where Logan thought he was in love with Hannah but he was just jealous of their relationship was ridiculous

Most of my feelings have already been said; last 10% of the book was the best; probably gonna forget everything about this book by next week 😬; going on a romance binge rn now lol

I’m actually reading this so slowly lol; atp I’m kind of just reading it to finish it because I like following through but I’m slowly losing interest in their relationship / the plot because the writing a little purple prose-y imo which is having the opposite of the intended effect; ready to start some poetry collections + continue FOTA series after this though 🤗🤗 ok sleep time bc 9:30 tmrw
