this was a lot better than FLWL; characters were less shallow; both books ended similarly 😏; writing was not bad, again, a lot better than FLWL; I’m actually really impressed with this one maybe because I had low expectations; for a romance this was actually really long but the slow burn HIT; 3.75 stars (based on enjoyment not objective quality :)); good buddy read too

Don’t really like how the author does this thing where she’ll start the chapter with the aftermath of some big event then flash back to what actually happened in the middle; it could work but it’s just not executed very well

I’ve already read Mariana Zapata so I’m expecting it to be very wattpad-esque; characters prob gonna be super predictable and one dimensional but maybe this will surprise me :) prob wouldn’t be starting this rn if it wasn’t a buddy read but gotta keep up my end of the deal

Yes I will give 3 stars to one of the most influential books in the history of literature 🙄 can’t be that great if I fall asleep almost every time I read it though :oo glad to be done

3.5 stars rounded up; I know the style was supposed to be super simplistic but I wanted more quotable moments :( characters and setting were very ✨ vivid and I appreciate the control of the story it really kept me guessing until the end while revealing things at the right pace; Ruth is so infuriating I just do not understand her >:(

this is actually the dumbest setup the cheating thing with the pool was just a plot device to make it morally ok to be with Pike 😡 I feel like the author never set up Cole to be the kind of person to do that it just HAPPENED so she could push Pike and Jordan together and I’m not here for it; also this is definitely not that good but I’m finishing it anyway; Mariana Zapata vibes ?

reading bc chandler ainsley said this like THE best romance book she had ever read and she literally reads 100+ romances a year so how could this one not be good 🤨🤨 but I also think she might have bad taste we’ll see

had to take 6 TikTok breaks to get through books 11 and 12 that was rough

last half was really boring noah fence I just did not relate to all the mom / career stuff; first half was pretty good though
