I love this book from the first sentence. In the year 2024, inside a popular novel for young adults, "once upon a time" is a compelling way to begin a story.

This is sublime, a very well written autobiography. Anne Murray lists an assistant but he must have only tidied up. This voice and story are clearly Anne's, written with her even-toned, elevated vocabulary that I love so much and the recognizable personality of her intelligent wit. Her honesty and grace come through, sharing what could have been done better in hindsight and celebrating her family and achievements.

This is a fantastic autobiography story, fresh off of seeing Anne Murray's 2021 television documentary "Full Circle". I must buy far more of her music than I have, including her children's album "There's A Hippo In My Tub"! I knew about it way back in 1998, when my friend & I borrowed a car to bumb around Nova Scotia and found this cassette inside it. Now, that is what you call a loyal Nova Scotia music collector!

This is my least favourite novel by Margaret Buffie. However, I am appreciating everything I can and certainly giving our fellow Winnipegger's oeuvre a chance all the way through. Could authors please create 'paranormal mystery' content without family members being in distress, angry, deceased, moving, reluctantly visiting anywhere, or coming of age? Just give us good 'paranormal mystery' content! No extra drama!
