A 'non crime mystery' from the year 1921, featuring girls.

This is my 2021 birthday present from my dear friend, Lorraine. I have saved it to enjoy during my birthday month now, 2023.

Leslie Rule is a lovely writer and investigator with sincerity. In the foreword, I was pleased to savour her Mom, Ann's writing and learn that she was the same. Here is a cheer to both of our Moms, Leslie! We miss them every day but they made sure we were strong too.

Very original and atmospheric. Let's see where Carol Beach York takes us on this jaunt.

At first, I sighed to see the top typical city locations recycled. However, Cara Hill tells the stories very well and did not cut & paste them from one print form to another. I tip my hat to my fellow Winnipegger for visiting, interviewing, and photographing every place herself anew. Also as I progress, she is covering additional locations that I know well but which the world does not. I like this book after all.

This is why I do not read the great, late Robert A. Arthur except sparingly. When I open his front covers, he sails me along one-hundred pages without me feeling any time passing. My dear spouse wanting the light out to sleep and snuggle, is why a bookmark is pausing my place until reading time again tonight.

Sometimes we leave an empty 'like button' click for reviews, if we are busy or have nothing to say. However in general, please: I don't want readers / pals who never comment on my pieces. They are not posted hastily. I research my details and edit my writing until I am happy with them. I put WORK into them and eagerly look for feedback every time I post them. :) Sincerely, Carolyn. A good education on the impressionist painters and style of the late 1800s, even if I do not like every person's output. I prefer realistic animals, people, and scenery and some of these painters come close. Or they shape their colours and subjects so beautifully and realistically, the unnatural effects are still pleasing to the eyes and heart.

I enjoy art. I do not paint or draw but I like learning what work went into paintings and drawings.

Magnifique, just the story anyone would want to learn about Céline. A tip for people outside Canada: don't say the "N" in Dion. It should not sound like "Dee Awwn". Stop at the "O", ending with the beginning of an "N" sound. The accent is on the second syllable of her family name (DiON) and French literally shows you the accent in the first syllable of her given name (CÉline).

This is a very lovely story that I am happy to learn.

Time to learn about our longtime, beloved, acclaimed, Canadian chanteuse. Thanksgiving Day this sunny October is the ideal time to read her heartfelt biography.

I finished "The Red House" in one day yesterday, recorded as its individual novel so that each volume counts my annual book total. I record my duologies for the final novels they contain.
