I love this book from the first sentence. In the year 2024, inside a popular novel for young adults, "once upon a time" is a compelling way to begin a story.

Here is personal news. My dear Dad went to the afterlife last night. Support is appreciated at any review or photo comment box, or if we personally e-mail.

As my profile message warns, I do not use messaging. Please direct nothing to the Goodreads mailboxes.

C. (Comment, never msg). 🙏 Thank you, dear Tina. My Brothers & I were prepared but this is still sorrowful and a shock to our world. Support means everything and your note is wonderful.

Yes, I love this book and find it very positive and warm. I see notes of humour in it that I think will make me happy and lift me up too. Chicklit is what I need right now and I can't wait to compare notes with you after I read it. Hugs, Carolyn.

Alexandra My condolences to you and your family, Carolyn. I hope there are people around you who can offer warmth and support.

C. (Comment, never msg). Thank you very much, Alexandra. Friends and acquaintances certainly help long-distance. My computer and desk are in my home and checked with gladness all the time. I also have my spouse Ron, our cats Angel & Petal, Brothers, their wives, and Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins who adore our dear Dad, too. Family friends of our Parents are alive to send their care and support too. Gratefully, Carolyn.

Neer Heartfelt condolences, Carolyn. Loss of a parent is shattering. I sent an email to you but am not sure whether you are still using that mail address. Good to hear that you have your loved ones around you. Take care.

C. (Comment, never msg). Thank you, Neer. I have long realized that our cats ascending feels even worse because they are our children, the lights of the life we have constantly in our homes today. I could not have handled another cat going. However, you only have two Parents and not having them in the world with you is hard too. I thank God it is not another cat but very sadly miss my Dad, too.

I do use Protonmail now (my initials plus last name as one word). Gmail only has "standard", which is far harder to check and use on dial-up internet than "basic" version they removed. Thus, I only dare look once in awhile. I will forward your message and will be glad to have this personal touch. Hugs, Carolyn.
