"I sputtered out on Salt a couple of months back, but have just picked it up again. Fortunately, the book reads great as a series of mini-documentaries about salt in different cultures. This book is ridiculously thorough and honestly a little unbelievable, as in, I can't believe how much of human history has been shaped by salt, and how little that's been acknowledged in standard history texts. Still enjoying it." — Oct 29, 2012 09:18AM
