I adore the writing style and Death as love interest? I couldn’t love nothing more. The storyline quite amazing with the step by step Signa took for her to embrace her true self.

The clues laid out for the crime of murderer in the Thorn Grove also goes round and round. Making me wonder what in the world is happening and who is who. That’s quite amazing because I cannot put a place about the truth and when it did “BOOM”, I did not expecting that at all. However, the motive of the culprits is respectable and reasonable enough for me.

Also, the magical realism in this book has pro and contra which is plus. For whatever it is worth, it almost goes with a saying every magic comes with a price. Which is good enough because NOT MANY AUTHOR realized that and just goes with the story and put the happy ending we all wanted. Then where’s the fun in that, anyway???

Few things that I wanted to be improved are:
🔹 Signa and Death relationship after the encounter truth about Death was annoying. How could she forgive him that easily??? Where is the drama I life for? — it would be much better if Signa try to “gather” her own self before forgive him truly. But in this part, she only listened to his reason in one chapter only and she forgave him. NONSENSE.
🔹The end of Hawthorn’s family and the disappearance of one member. They just goes well with it? Without any rumors or any suspicious happening after the truths out? — I was expecting much better than this after the truth out. It would be much better if “when the truth out and Hawthorn has their own dawn fall”

The issues this book brought gave me on my knees, all too damn good and I appreciate them all. (1)Family’s love, (2)The grudge, (3)Male and Female different treatments, (4)Embracing yourself, (5)Different way of grieving, (6)Being different is a sin, (7)Symbolism of Loneliness and the Wealth, (8)Siblings different treatments, (9)Appreciation of being human, (10)The Anxiety as the past hunted you down.

The ending was good and make me wanted to have next book soon! Now Signa going to play with the fate? Damn, I’ll signed up!! ...more "
