“Can’t everybody snap?” I asked him.
“You’d be surprised,” he replied.
“I’m meeting the guys from Cardamon’s Couch to record some music,” he explained in a low voice. “And we need someone who can snap."

2.5. I read this for SFPBO

This book wasn't terrible for a self-published book, but it wasn't very good. It's a typical high fantasy tale, where a bunch of strangers meet and end up pursuing some unknown quest, and frankly, it was kind of dull.

This book was ok. I enjoyed it more than the other books in this book-off (not to mention actually finished it) primarily because, despite the fact that the setting is supposed to be steampunk, this book is like 97% a romance nov

I read this for SPFBO

It just wasn't good. Out of all the books I've read for this competition so far, this book by far stood out as a self-published book.

First off, I don't know whether it was a glitch with my Calibre, which I used to read the book,

Beautiful cover, but I just wasn't feeling the contents. I couldn't connect with any of the characters and the setting was confusing. A good book finds a way to incorporate explanation of the setting into the story, and I never g

I read this for the SPFBO 4

The writing was fine and I'm sure I'd have enjoyed this more had I known anything about this series. It may have been a standalone but I had no idea what the setting was, and I was more confused about what was going on than

DNF at 40%. It just wasn't very good.

For a self-pubbed book, the spelling and grammar was fine. The story proceeded very, very, very slowly, and I just didn't like the characters or setting.

"No, that stench came from the third corpse. The one that had a man’s body, but the unmistakeable dead red eyes, whiskered muzzle, and matted fur of a rodent. It was half man, and half giant rat.

Yeah. Just another day on the job."

This book is about Southern California running out of water. The situation is dire, but good fucking god, the main (female) character in this book is so mind-numbingly dumb that I don't want some water after drinking book, I want some fucking

Description: Parody by Mike and Khanh. We are not authors. We never want to be authors. This is just for fun. We're not making a single cent on this. Capisce?! An ancient angel and his demon counterpart falls in love with a beautiful, innocent young orphan who's not who she seems. With the destiny of the world in their hand, will they save the world, destroy it...or follow their heart?! Warning: This is a parody. It will be stupid and offensive to many people, cultures, your intelligence in general.
