| That was quite a start for the new investigative agency! Nothing like starting off with a high profile murder. But there was no gore. I really like the fact that these stories focus on the questions and clues, the analyzing of data and interviewing p ...more | |

by Sarah Beth Brazytis (Goodreads Author) |

| What a lovely story! It wasn’t full of danger and excitement, but it was full of living people who struggled and triumphed and worried and rejoiced. The setting, the characters, and situations were all well done and I felt acquainted with Rocky Knob ...more | |

Just finished listening to the audio and enjoyed it so much! I love getting to hear the tunes of the hymns and often found myself singing them later. I loved it all over again. |

“Never give in. Never give in. Never, never, never, never—in nothing, great or small, large or petty—never give in, except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force. Never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.”

“Well, we have a whole new year ahead of us. And wouldn't it be wonderful if we could all be a little more gentle with each other, a little more loving, and have a little more empathy, and maybe, next year at this time we'd like each other a little more.”

“Lucy began cutting her sausage into rounds. “I can’t believe Christmas is almost upon us,” she mentioned.
“It’ll be a hard Christmas for many,” James said. “A dark Christmas for all.”
“That’s why it’s good to remember that we have the Light,” Lucy said softly.
James smiled at her. “Right you are, Lucy. Right you are.”

“There is no neutral ground when it comes to the tolerance question. Everybody has a point of view she thinks is right, and everybody passes judgment at some point or another. The Christian gets pigeonholed as the judgmental one, but everyone else is judging, too, even people who consider themselves relativists.”
