Rachel | 1434 comments I figured since so many of us will be reading it and we're doing the Herbert tribute for May. Now to finish what I'm currently reading so I don't have to abandon it come April 30th.

I preordered the h/c, but it is being shipped right now. Hoping to have it by the end of the week...

message 257: by Bill (new)

Bill (shiftyj1) | 4891 comments I preordered mine too, but don't know when it will ship :(

The ebook is almost $14 so I ordered the hardcover for $17...now I don't know if I can wait. I also don't know if I can pay fourteen-frickin-dollars for an ebook. I don't think so...

Same here, Bill. For the extra couple of dollars, I wanted to "see" it on my shelf. They just shipped mine last night because I had placed another order..

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments We have Amazon Prime and love it, Nikki. I had an e-book for Ketchum's I'm Not Sam but went ahead and bought a hardback copy for a good price on Amazon for my collection since his books become so hard to find later on.

message 262: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 1434 comments I bought the ebook since I also bought the limited edition Subterranean Pres copy which won't ship until later.

message 263: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 14 comments How do I do a buddy reads anyone ?

message 264: by Rachel (new)

Rachel | 1434 comments You just have to read the book and join the discussion in the thread, like a group read but smaller. Also let us know in this thread what buddy read yiu want to join. I'm not sure what the minimum number of people reading the same book is to have a thread set up.

message 265: by Tressa (new)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments Carolyn, you can either come here and ask if anyone wants to read along with you, or you can decide to join someone else's read. When it's decided that a buddy read will happen, anyone can create a thread for it in the Buddy Reads folder. Sometimes the entire book is read and then people discuss it afterward, and sometimes so many chapters are read in a certain number of days and it's discussed.

A good buddy read would probably need at least three or more people to join to make it worthwhile.

I hate that they seduced me into loving them, but I'm addicted to free shipping. I have to remember to get my free book today before I miss out.

Cindy | 728 comments Starting a buddy read for The Neighbors next week. If anyone would like to join us!!

message 280: by [deleted user] (new)

I'm planning to read Interview with the Vampire, The Witching Hour, The Great and Secret Show, or The Talisman soon. If anyone else is planning to read any of these books I'll join you.

I'm also open to reading anything by Stephen King. I haven't read most of his stuff in years and would love to read them again.

message 281: by [deleted user] (new)

I also have Swan Song and Boy's Life I want to read. But I haven't read anything by Robert R. McCammon and am open to reading anything by him.

message 282: by Tiffany (new)

Tiffany I would love to read Swan Song with people. It's really long, so I think doing it as a Buddy Read would keep me motivated!

message 283: by [deleted user] (last edited May 08, 2013 11:46AM) (new)

I'm good with that. I'd be ready to go anytime after this week. :)

message 284: by Addy (new)

I could have sworn I saw someone ask about this too. I could pick it up and be up for a June read if you want?

Traci;
Although I have already read 'The Witching Hour' and 'The Talisman' I am willing to re-read with a buddy and discuss; just keep me posted.

message 287: by [deleted user] (new)

Holly - they'll be rereads for me too, though it's been awhile. :)

message 288: by Addy (new)

Addy | 5111 comments Kate, that would be great! It sounds interesting and I've never read nething from Steve Gerlach. Have you?

It was me. I deleted it as I didn't see any replies.

message 290: by Kate (new)

Kate | 3525 comments @Addy, that's great, we can set it up a bit nearer the time. :)

@Nikki, I thought it was you, are you in?

Kate | 3525 comments Addy wrote: "Kate, that would be great! It sounds interesting and I've never read nething from Steve Gerlach. Have you?"

No, I haven't read anything by him. He's supposed to be a bit like Richard Laymon. I guess we'll find out soon. :)

Addy | 5111 comments Sweet! Thought it was u Nikki and as soon as I checked out the book and was gonna reply I couldn't find it. It never occurred to me that it was deleted...lol.

message 295: by Addy (new)

Addy | 5111 comments Yes. I heard that as well Kate. Hope so, cause he's one of my favorites.

message 296: by Kate (new)

Kate | 3525 comments Should we set up a thread now and try and drum up some interest or wait a bit longer?

Next time I'll be sure to leave a rec up longer. It's a pretty long read, too :)

message 298: by Addy (new)

Addy | 5111 comments Yeah. I think like 600 pages. That's ok. I'm reading a pretty thick Stephen king book with someone and its working out fine. Of course we're doing like 15% at a time. Should be good though. I say we make a thread a little bit later, but whatever is fine with me.

When you or Kate make a thread, send me a link. I get lost and sometimes I don't get my updates :)

I'd quite like to read the Great Secret Show before the graphic novel comes out.
