I'll eavesdrop. I loved that book.

message 405: by Ctgt (new)

Ctgt | 765 comments I'm with Traci on this, I've been trying to find Pilo at my libraries but no go and I won't pay the Kindle price(I'm a cheap bastard) so I will try to get a used copy but that may take awhile. I would be willing to read any of the fantasy books you listed Nikki.

message 406: by Ms. Nikki (new)

Ms. Nikki (miznikki) | 13944 comments I made a thread for Pilo here> www.goodreads.com/topic/show/1356130-...

Ms. Nikki (miznikki) | 13944 comments Maxine, would you like to read Kushiel's Dart after Pilo?

message 408: by Ms. Nikki (new)

Ms. Nikki (miznikki) | 13944 comments Ctgt, which would you like to read?

message 409: by Kate (new)

Kate | 3525 comments I've just started reading Boy's Life by Robert R. McCammon , I'm only 3 chapters in and really enjoying but thought I might enjoy it more as a buddy read. Is anyone interested in reading along with me?

message 410: by Maxine Marsh (new)

Maxine Marsh | 737 comments Nikki wrote: "Maxine, would you like to read Kushiel's Dart after Pilo?"

Yes, yes, yes! It's been in my digital pile for awhile now. If I remember correctly, it's very long too.

I just finished this book last week but I don't mind discussing it if you want to open a thread about the book.

message 412: by Kate (new)

Kate | 3525 comments Thanks Traci, I'll start one up.

message 413: by Ctgt (new)

Ctgt | 765 comments Nikki wrote: "Ctgt, which would you like to read?"

I ordered Pilo but it will take a little time to get here. I'm good with any of those fantasy books, Kushiel, Garden, or Name. Whatever works for everyone.

message 414: by Walter (new)

Walter Spence (walterspence) | 573 comments I'm still reading Kushiel's Dart, though it must be said that I've been setting it to one side then coming back to it when other reading obligations crop up. Which is fine, since I'm not rushing to complete it. Few books out there quite so compelling in terms of plot and prose, and I'm perfectly content to prolong the experience.

Would you like to buddy read it? It might help you move along?

message 419: by Walter (new)

Walter Spence (walterspence) | 573 comments Nikki, either I'll finish it with you guys or simply participate in the discussion once you all get started on it (being mindful of spoilers, natch). There are two more books in the Phedre trilogy alone, not counting the six other novels in the Kushiel's Legacy series. Lots of reading ahead for me. :)

message 420: by Ms. Nikki (new)

Ms. Nikki (miznikki) | 13944 comments Sure thing, Walter. I own 3 or 4 of Carey's books. I need to get a jump on them soon :)

Same here--for the (lack of) price, I grabbed it, too. Have to finish one, then I'll try to join in for this one!

You're welcome. I don't get why the paperback is so expensive when the kindle version is free?

Sounds like this one is going to be a very active buddy read :)

Tressa (moanalisa) | 19903 comments Does anyone want to buddy read Gaiman's new book The Ocean at the End of the Lane in July? This one is getting amazing reviews, and even though I've not some of Gaiman's books, I do want to read this one.

Gaiman is often a bit too weird for me but I may give the audio book a shot next month. He intimidates my imagination.
