Neat. Thanks, you two. Keep us posted. :)

You work so hard for us, it's amazing. Thank you, both.

Cool. :-)
Would you want us to send you the original image files (of the pics you choose for the photo book)? Just asking because anything I post is usually not the same resolution like on the camara.

Sounds wonderful.

Yes, it would be optimum to have original files. We'll come up with a specific plan (email addresses to send to, etc.) next week. Step one is to collect the photos. : )

Thank you for keeping everyone posted, Karen! :-)
Yes, I think we'll need the original image files at least of some (most?) photos. Karen is busy tangoing this weekend and I'm feverishly working on an art project for a friend, but we'll start planning the photo book in a near future. The idea is to have it ready for Christmas — that way we can also include Fair Play (and TBWTPT?) pictures in it. ;-)

Nice view!
Nice view!

That looks gorgeous! (both books and the view) I love the contrast of colours. :-)
Happy reading time!

Sunshine, green grass and good books, what can be better than that :) Enjoy!
Great picture, Alison! I love your blue, blue sky and those trees that look so exotic to me. I hope your day was a lovely one, dear.

A weather commentary for Antonella: yesterday, when I took that photo in the middle of the afternoon, it was 12C (53F). Last night it was -2C (28F). These are very normal temperatures for the middle of the winter in Hamilton. It's fairly mild and it's fairly wet. The feel of the temperature is really changeable though. Basically, if it's sunny, it will feel warm (like yesterday), and if it's cloudy, it will feel cold (like today). The sun here is very intense. People who know say that the hole in the ozone is centered over New Zealand and Australia (which is why this part of the world has the highest rates of skin cancer overall), so the sun is very hot and intense and the air temperature doesn't often match up, so even on a warm summer day, you can be sitting in the shade and be cold or sitting in the sun and be overheated. It can be frustrating knowing what clothes to wear! Because the climate is fairly maritime, it doesn't get too hot or too cold and can be quite changeable.

That was me too LOL

Thank you for the weather report and also for putting there the Celsius degrees ;-).

Am I the only person in Europe still working in Fahrenheit?

I'm on Celsuis now! I think I prefer Fahrenheit because it's temperature on a grand scale. I liked living in a place where it could be a hundred or it could be zero (that's in Utah). 38C and -17C aren't quite as exciting (not that it ever gets close to either where I live now). But it's so good to be back in metric! It makes so much more sense in my brain. Changing units just means adding zeroes! I love it.

It is nice. Though, when I used to live here, I found I quite missed a snowy winter. Strange, but true. We'll see if that happens again. Fortunately, in the South Island, there are big mountains and snow, so it's not far to visit.

Here is some proof that Fair Game, Come Unto These Yellow Sands, Fatal Shadows and Stranger Things Have Happened: An Adrien English Write Your Own Damn Story visited Arctic Circle with us (us = Antonella, Calathea, hubby and me). :-)

Wow :-)

I would have caved, too. I Googled the Moomin - so cute. :)

That's fantastic! Josh's books are so well-travelled. :)

Great photo, especially with the aeroplane in the background! How many Moomins did you see being carried around the airport?
PS I have no idea what a Moomin is, and have decided not to Google to find out.

Great photo, especi..."
Oh but Hj, one of these days you should see if Finnish author Tove Jansson's Moomin books are translated to English. I can guarantee you some lovely reading and whimsical, beautiful art as well.

Very cute :)

There are quite a few Moomin books translated to many languages, English being one of them. You could say that Tove Jansson's Moomin books are like Winnie The Pooh books -- children love them (and all the children in Finland grow up with them), but there is a great, laid-back sharp-eyed Moomin philosophy for adults in them, too. I liked the word Anne used for the Moomin illustrations and stories -- whimsical. The Moomins are bohemian, warm-hearted, goofy creatures and their creator Tove Jansson not only wrote the stories, but also illustrated them (she was both author and painter). And it might be interesting for you guys to know that her life-long partner was a woman (and a graphic artist).

So cool to hear that also Danish people know Moomins! :-)

Not sure about today, my nephews mostly raved about Teletubbies and Rasmus Klump (Erasmus Lump in English)
And now it's Cars and Planes that get them all bouncy
But I'm pretty sure the Moomins are still shown on TV
Sidenote: Dad still has a first edition of Rasmus Klump from 1955 :D
It's not worth much in money, but still, a children's book made of paper that has lasted 3 generations of readers is quite something methinks
